Unabridged Audiobook
This book has the same problem as SO many fantasy or scifi series. At some point, toward the end, the author gets so excited to share all the secrets and mysteries they’ve built up over the course of the series. I truly believe this is the single hardest part of writing a great series instead of a good series: there are some secrets you will need to take to your grave. Steven king said in the prologue of the extended version of The Stand that people ask him questions about “ what happened to this character, or that character, like they send me letters every year”. The truth is that some questions are better unanswered. How does that affect this book? This book, unfortunately, falls prey to this exact phenomenon. It feels less line a story and more like exposition. We don’t need the side stories about the original civ. How it was created, why. You’re revealing things you know the fans WANT to know. But they shouldn’t know. Anyway, poor ending to an interesting series. Probably still worth finishing.
this is a brilliant story, well told, and expertly narrated. I would recommend both the author and narrator as worth exploration. I certainly intend to…
Fun listen. Good series, binged all three in two weeks.
The conclusion to the series was very satisfying. I enjoyed it immensely!
Loved it!!
