Dr. Bunion’s Academy is a typical 18th-century English school, filled with dust and distracted boys. One day in ancient history class, students Harris and Bostock learn that Spartans sometimes left infants out in the hills to make them stronger. Two Spartan babies were even fed by a wolf!

 

To test the truth of this amazing story, the imaginative youths decide to leave Harris’ infant sister, Adelaide, out on the downs. But when a young woman instead of a wolf finds the baby, she takes Adelaide away. Now frantic, Harris and Bostock have to find a way to find Adelaide and put things right again.
