Unabridged Audiobook
Good book. Miss the previous narrator though.
Change is difficult; we all know that. I realize Brett Battles was writing for Stuart Woods prior to his passing and I had hoped my beloved Stone Barrington series would continue without a hitch. But this one just didn't feel right at all to me. First there was the Felicity Devonshire bombshell that was dropped with absolutely no resolution. Then, I just had trouble appreciating the convoluted path of the rest of the story but gave it 3 stars for attempt. My greatest struggle was with the narrator. RIP Tony Roberts - you are one tough act to follow! I am grateful that those in charge made a gallant effort to find a reasonable copy of Stone and Dino's voice (and for that, I gave it 3 stars) but with ALL the talented "voice actors" out there, I think a better fit could have been selected. All that being said - if you are a fan of Stuart Woods and especially love the Stone Barrington books, you should continue reading them. (I know I will.) But, sadly, I must say - maybe it's time for Stone and Holly to get married and allow the series to have a dignified end vs. the spiral I dread.
