Brilliant narration as ever and as the evil character becomes less so, the romance is more palatable.

One of my all time favorites, I’ve finished the whole series (and spin-offs) in 10 days. Narrators are fantastic.

I really enjoyed this one! It was so much fun. Fantasy, quests, discovery, a cheeky minion, pining, one bed, *feelings*, consent King, comedy, banter, just… all the things! I don't understand how these books are not a booktok sensation! This second installment of the series continues the main plot, but it also adds so much to the characters and the world. I loved getting to discover new magical creatures and abilities. The way the author writes all of this and uses it as a device to drive the romantic plot is perfection. I was not bored for a single moment. The character development for both Damien and Amma was pretty big! Damien really isn't the greatest villain, despite his lineage. And he is finally coming to terms with that and realizing he does not have to be who his parents want him to be. I hope we learn more about his mysterious mother. Amma also starts to realize things about herself that I think will be more important to the plot than is shown so far. Her past is revealed some as well, and it makes the beginning of the series make a lot more sense. I absolutely love that her ability is almost a balance to Damien's. Kaz is the world's cutest imp. I loved *that* scene and his dialogue with Damien, even though it also made me tear up. That ending was diabolical. I am very glad I already have book 3 ready to go. I have been listening on audiobook and the narrators do an excellent job!
