The system of life: a scientific perspective on the origin and diversity of creatures

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

What if the story of life on Earth is far more purposeful, interconnected, and organized than we have been led to believe?

In The System of Life, Dr. Hassan Nasrat explores the origin and diversity of living organisms through the lens of modern science, genetics, molecular biology, and the history of evolutionary thought. Challenging the traditional Darwinian concept of “descent with modification,” the book presents an alternative framework—“Descent with Creation”—proposing that life developed through successive, highly organized stages within a vast and integrated System of Life.

Drawing upon recent advances in molecular biology, evolutionary developmental biology, microbiology, and genomic science, this audiobook examines profound questions surrounding randomness, natural selection, biological complexity, cooperation, and intentionality in the development of life on Earth.

From the mystery of the first living cell to the emergence of microorganisms, multicellular organisms, embryonic development, and complex symbiotic systems, the book offers a scientific and philosophical journey through nearly four billion years of Earth’s biological history.

Combining scientific inquiry, rational reflection, and a search for truth, The System of Life invites listeners to reconsider familiar assumptions and engage with one of humanity’s greatest questions through a modern scientific lens.
