The darkness beneath never wished to be used at all. It simply wished to be free.

With trust fractured and our heroes separated across the burning face of Elysior, full-scale war is looming. Alma is trapped in the clutches of the Countess, Kat, Emrys, and Gideon must find a way to play the Countess's next game to rescue her. But time is running out, and loyalties are a fickle thing as the surviving Fey flee into the north, chased by the dark summoning of Montagor set on revenge.

New allies are found in the strangest of places, and ghosts from the past return. But nothing is quite what it seems. As demons are unleashed upon the earth in their murderous legions, Kat and Emrys must call upon their very last resort for help … the Old Gods themselves. For not all darkness is their enemy, and fate is about to begin its final deadly game.

The stunning conclusion to the Sunday Times bestselling gothic fantasy series, Tales of a Treacherous Fate is a sumptuous magical retelling, unmissable for fans of Rachel Gillig and Kaylie Smith.
