Unabridged Audiobook
I usually like Freida McFadden, but not this book; it was terrible! The first 2/3 of the book is about a 16 year old and her relationship with a teacher. The rest of the book is an improvement but doesn't redeem itself. Only recommended for readers in their mid teenage years.
This may be my new favorite Freida McFadden book (The Inmate has held that spot for a while)! It had me on my toes the entire time and I felt like I knew the characters. There were some great twists and of course the epilogue had me floored! Highly recommend, but I do want to give a reminder to check the trigger warnings beforehand.
I have had better listen
Very whiney, annoying, repetitive, just need it to finish
I didn’t see the second twist. Sole mates.
Pretty good, a little bit predictable.
The Teacher had me hooked from the first chapter. The suspense was insane, the characters were frustratingly messy, and every time I thought I'd figured out the truth, Freida McFadden hit me with another twist. What started as a story about one obvious villain quickly became a tangled web of manipulation, secrets, and shocking revelations.
Frieda Mc Fadden is a great author read 4 books and they are always a good time
Another gripping book from my favourite author. Always with a twist and l love how everything fits together.
This book would have been better marketed to teenagers. I also found the narrator's whispery voice to be distracting and unappealing
I loved this book. I had to read the epilogue like 3 times to let what I was reading soak in
I loved it! My jaw was on the floor after that epilogue. The queen of twists did it again!
I love Frieda, but felt this one could have been better, the was a lot that didn’t add up with the twist.
I absolutely loved this book. I enjoyed each and every plot twist. It kept me guessing until the last minute!!! Also, I enjoyed the narrator. This should definitely be a must read/listen to!!!!
This was a great story with awesome twists!!!! Recommend highly!!
the facts just don't add up at the end. the twist is a person who is unaccurately.described throughout the book. it just failed
It was a pretty disturbing (for many reasons) book, but I was intrigued and couldn't stop listening.
Narration was excellent! Story was really engaging and the ending was so unexpected….another brilliant book by Freida
Good fast paced book
The story was interesting but I really thought it was really way over the top. Mixed up and confusing characters seem to appear at odd moments. The narration was abysmal. The woman doesn’t vary her voice sufficiently to differentiate the characters. Toward the end, inserting a male narrator doesn’t really help. The ending was something of a surprise and actually the best part of the book. This was my first Frieda McFadden book. I doubt I will read any others but, who knows?
I love the ending of this book
One of her best books yet
What a twist at the end!
Another great book by Freida. I always enjoy the twist at the end.
I enjoyed this book. looking forward to more Freida McFadden reads.
The female narrator is much better than the male. A suspense novel with the name “The Teacher” is a giveaway to the storyline and yes it’s as bad as you imagine. Freida’s twists and turns do not disappoint.
Very Good Book!
It felt a little predictable at first but by the end I was on the edge of my seat!
I am really enjoying Freida McFadden's audiobooks. I have enjoyed the creative writing, plot twists and character development. I am always entertained by her stories. I plan to keep listening to her. The Teacher was a compelling story. The plot twists were great and to me a lot of surprises. Keep up the great work, Freida!
Kinda creepy, like all good Frida McFadden books
Kept me captivated
Overall a captivating book. I pretty much predicted what the deal was, or at least most of it, about half way in. A couple different plot twists. I felt the final plot tots was a bit unnecessary and almost like it didn’t quite fit.
Good story, not really my taste, the narrators make the book worth listening. The story is dark and I would call it a psychological thriller with a dark ending. I cannot fault the author because it is not my genre.
The dialogue is difficult, but this book is well written!! AND the ENDING!!!!! I cannot, sooo good!!!
This was a good listen. However I feel like it was semi predictable unlike her other books.
I really enjoyed this book as I’ve enjoyed many of Freida’s books
Well damn, I got through this one quick cuz it kept me locked in. Maaaaan say, we wonder why people go distant on us sometime; sometimes they up to something; making silent moves in the time away. People live double lives whether they admit it or not. We all have that switch that turns on when we’re in specific situations… some never turn the switch off.
TW: discusses teen sex abuse/grooming Half the story is from the point of view of a teenager so it reads a little juvenile, but it did hook me about 1/3 of the way through and it finished strong. It does go into some themes that certain people might not want to hear about.
Nah bro
So!! Good!!
Another cracker! I really enjoyed this book. Beautifully captured teenage naivety and took me back to my own teenage years.
Love all her books! They keep you engaged for sure.
PEDOFILE ALERT
Fantastic!!
This book was good from the beginning until the end! Both of the narrators Danny Montooth and Leslie Howard did an impeccable job and keeping me interested and on the edge of my seat wanting more!!!
Love a good McFadden twist! Made me stare into space for a while when it was done so you know it’s good
The book was surprisingly the best at the end!
Excellent. Another twist in the tale from Freida
i hate this dude sm
Great book
Definitely my favorite Freida McFadden Book.
I actually liked this book. I took away 1 star for the repetitive whiney 16 years ago old..
No wonder the author publishes herself-trite
Plot twist!
Loved it
Awful. The amount of obnoxious detail is exhausting. We know what a house alarm system is and how it works. I don’t need a tutorial. The narrators “make” voice was disturbing. I heard great things about this book and was not impressed at all
What a twist!!
Loved the book
Great book and amazing narrator. I recommended it to my brother and my niece and they both enjoy it. I'm 10 years older than my brother and 30 years older than my niece. Look at you connecting the generations
Good book to reintroduce reading
Great book, great character development, and always with a little twist
Was not expecting the ending twist. Very good
Fantastic book - a very dark twist at the end!
Another winner from FmcF
Good
Loved this one! Was not expecting the end. Had to reread the last 5 chapters twice to put it together! I'm not dumb but thought there was no way the ending was what I thought I was reading. Well, it sure was! So good!
good losten, had me wondering what the end will be
Some good twists, not my favorite Frieda novel
Ziz zag, twisty all the way through, loved this from start to finish, I like how all the loose ends are neatly tied up in the end. I'm looking forward to the next chapter one
My first Freida McFadden book! It got me started as a fan of the author. Loved this book!
Good suspense
A different slant on the usual crime novel and reflects real life of teacher and student interaction. None of the characters is perfect.
Loved it! Could not stop listening, the twists at the end always get me!
A good page-turner as usual but the characters were almost all equally unsavory and irritating this time around. Adeline's portrayal/character was an effective one of a young lady with Borderline Personality Disorder but Eve's character (although notably cold) was somewhat underdeveloped and ambiguously and inexplicably unlikeable. I was certainly taken by surprise with the identity of (don't want to spoil!) one of the characters near the end!
I loved this one. The story was very well written and the narator did a very good job
Good ending but not my favorite McFadden book.
great read, suspenseful plot, made me hate the evil character!
Excellent book
I liked the book, not loved it. Her other books set the bar SO high that I think I was a bit disappointed with the ending.
I loved it!!! I had to go back and listen to the end again because I was so shocked!!
very entertaining and kept you guessing.
love all her books! they are great!
Fabulous! I did not predict that last little twist!!
This book a rollercoaster of emotions. The plot twist at the end was mind blowing.
Lacking in a good twist towards the end of the book as the twist became a little far fetched but overall an enjoyable read. Perhaps not the best of Freida's books but parts of it had me gripped.
Couldn’t handle the subject matter being in education myself. The plot twist at the end was unexpected and best part of the entire book!
Not worth the hype. It was a fairly basic storyline. Ending was a bit predictable. I do love freida books. This wasn't her best
Great twists,
It was fun to listen to, but it I didn't love it. It was very predictable and the ending did not make sense.
Wow. Just wow.
Amazing! Had no clue !
