Summary
This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.
According to Sanatan Panchang, Nautapa starts when the Sun enters Rohini Nakshatra nine days before the full moon in the Shukla Paksha of the month of Jyeshtha. According to astrological calculations, Nautapa occurs when the Sun is in Rohini Nakshatra and stays between 10 to 20 degrees of Taurus. During these 9 days, the Sun comes very close to the Earth. The Sun stays in this Nakshatra for 15 days, but the heat is very high in the first 9 days. The temperature of the Sun remains the highest for 9 days, so the period of 9 days is called Nautapa.
If there is no rain and cold wind does not blow in these nine days, then it is believed that there will be good rain in the coming days. During this time, due to the heat of the Sun and the water element of Rohini, the monsoon goes into the womb and Nautapa is considered to be the gestation period of the monsoon. The Sun travels in 12 zodiac signs, 27 constellations. According to astrology, the Sun nullifies the influence of the planet with which it sits in the horoscope.
Nautapa does not come in foreign countries. Isn't it surprising? Nautapa is a traditional belief only in India, especially in North India. It is a period of nine days when the Sun enters the Rohini constellation and there is intense heat. This belief is associated with the astrological and agricultural traditions of India. In foreign countries, especially in those areas where the climate and agricultural practices are not the same as those of India, the concept and significance of Nautapa does not exist.
These days are special for agriculture. It is believed that if the sun shines well in the country during these days, then a good monsoon comes in the country and rain during the days of Navtaapa or Nautapa means that the monsoon may be weak or delayed.
