Unabridged Audiobook
This is the most weirdly fascinating listen. It is an uncomfortable but hilarious tale, distopian yet so human. I have to take breaks from it, but I keep coming back to it. I wasn‘t sure about it at first, but as the smatterings of odd but realistic characters and quick and funny historical references and perspectives rolled out, I found myself continually bursting into laughter. And the narrator! He seems to have been born to read this story out loud; in fact, he may be 70% of why this listen works for me.
It was a really interesting listen. Some adult material but still a good book. And the narrator did a great job, i even laughed out loud at a few parts when he was being the devil.
excellent reading and well written.
A really interesting book. It has a slow start to set up the plot and do all the character development but then gets to a point where it is hard to put down. A worthy read of fiction which is well read with a very understandable Scottish flair.
I stuck it out hoping there would be a plot/purpose it did not rise anovel amateur drivel. No story and pointless detail. Very disappointed. Maybe the abridged version was better…
A very different type story. You don't come across many books debating beliefs like this one. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys questioning religious norms. Fantastic narrator, beautiful brogue.
a great book well narrated. very enjoyable.
