Unabridged Audiobook
Excellent audio book. Although I was familiar with Malcom X's story, I learned a great deal from all the contextual interviews, especially those from Malcom's family members.
The story is interesting from the perspective of civil rights history in general and the growth of the Black Muslim movement in America. Although the book covers Malcolm X's whole life, I was disappointed because it does not provide enough about Malcom's adult life and his effects on civil rights, why he was so feared by the FBI and followers of MLK and Elijah Muhammad, and his legacy. I've heard the name Malcolm X my whole adult life and yet knew very little about him, hence my interest in the book.
absolutely great book
Excellent! In depth, eye-opener, thing that He didn't say in his a utobiography. I would recommend to all people of color. Narrator did an excellent job telling the story!!!
Profound, well researched and ultimately providing previously unknown stories from Malcolm’s past. Kudos to Tamara Payne for finishing this book in her father’s memory
Phenomenal writing on the life of the late great El Haijj Malik El Shabazz. This book does more than the Autobiography of Malcolm X did. It gives perspective from those who closely knew brother Malcolm. It challenges some of the stories told in the Autobiography with accounts of those who were present when they happened. Unlike the Autobiography I actually was able to get closer to Malcolm's character via personal accounts of his closest alies
