Governments that restrict AI development, slow its deployment, or erect barriers to its benefits are, in his view, the real threat. The technology offers compounding gains in medicine, education, productivity, and scientific discovery. Anything that delays those gains costs lives and opportunity. He is also skeptical that AGI will soon master every scientific discipline. In his telling, that level of capability remains a distant and uncertain prospect, not a near-term emergency requiring guardrails. The portrait of Jensen as a leader is not uniformly flattering. When Witt presses him on speculative questions, Jensen is coldly dismissive. Witt leaves readers to decide whether Huang's confidence reflects unusually clear thinking or the perspective of someone whose company benefits enormously if AI continues to be deployed rapidly. The book leaves the impression that Nvidia's greatest long-term strategic risk may not be technological at all. It may be succession. Around sixty senior executives report directly to Huang, and he says he intends to remain CEO until the last day of his life. The question of who can eventually replace him remains unanswered. Great companies are often built by leaders willing to invest for years in opportunities that appear insignificant to everyone else. Nvidia did not become an AI leader by reacting to the AI boom. It became one by preparing for it long before the market believed it would arrive.
