Unabridged Audiobook
I enjoyed te story, definitely a strong female lead with an unexpected twist at the end. I look forward to book 2.The narration, however, was lacking. if you're going to have two narrators, have the male do all the male voices and narrative for the Callisian and the female do all the female voices and female narrative for Medinia. (Sorry if I misspelled their names). Having the male read only Callisian's chapter with female impressions and then the female read only Medinia's chapters with male impressions was very distracting and made it harder to follow the story line.
I only made it to the beginning of chapter two. I thought this was going to be a hero overcoming enemies through strength and wits. Turns out it is a weak female protagonist who surrenders at the end of chapter 1 and chapter 2 starts out 3 years later with her waiting to be rescued still. Not my kind of story, not my kind of protagonist and not my kind of writing. The fight scene was interspersed with emotional tangents and tears mid fight. I would say this is for females from 10-16 years old.
Be warned, even though this says it is book one in a series, it has characters from a previous trilogy. So it’s kind of annoying because you feel like you start the book already not knowing what’s going on and the author seems to assume that readers of this book have read the other books. I found it somewhat intriguing, it got rather repetitive in the middle, but a really compelling twist at the end that does make me want to read the next one.
I like the book but I'm not a big fan of the 2 narrators saying when it's the guy or the girl part it takes me out of the story.
I loved this book, I can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens!
Definitely an unexpected ending can’t wait for book two
Looking forward to the next book
A beautiful romanticy with yearning and spice. Ancient gods and fae abound in this duology's first book. I was caught up in the sometimes heart wrenching, always adventurous twists. The only thing that I can't endorse completely was there are times when the MFC inner monologs could have had a little less emphasis. Didn't keep me from loving it, though. The narration was impressive, adding even more to the depth of the characters. So much fun!
good book....looking forward to next
Narrator was good as it was the same as the other series, however the storyline was hard to follow. Looking forward to the next book to see if they improve the storyline telling.
so much stomach churning and teeth gnashing on the part of the protagonists made worse by very weak narrators. Not remotely interested in how this continues.
I really enjoyed this book. a bit difficult to keep up with all the flash backs in the beginning, but very interesting story line - can't wait for the next.especially the FMC voice was great, but pleace (!) just read the female voices in the male chapters and vice versa!
it is amazing but is really spicy at some spots
this one was pretty good
Great read
Looking forward to the next book. Hope it comes out soon.
Can’t wait for book 2!!!!
The main female character is annoying! She acts like a bratty child throughout the entire story. Hated the way it ended!
Loved this book. I saw it follows another series, but I didn't read it yet. But I enjoyed this book so much I'll definitely do the other series as well. Loved the characters, can't wait to see what happens next.
MC is so bitter and not fun to listen to
Loved this one
