Unabridged Audiobook
Took me on a beautiful sonic journey. I was lost and found again in this personal recalling of Doggerland. Through marks and etchings in time, the book connects the world today with the movements of yesterday. Dreamy and gently delivered, these songs played in my mind long after I finished the book.
A fabulously engrossing listen. The writer’s fascination regarding the recent discoveries of both aeon-spanning fossils and our ancestor humans’ artifacts from the land mass that existed until just a few thousand years ago where the English Channel and North Sea now exist is woven into meditations on the nature of life. The author’s poems being sung by the narrator Lisa Colman in between chapters add a rich and unusual dimension to this unique audiobook. Highly recommended.
