If you like your fairy tales to be about epic quests, this one's for you! I really like the Tinderbox, so this is fun for me. I really like how the author made it her own. In case you're not familiar with the Tinderbox fairy tale, there's a brief synopsis included. The Princess and the Pea elements were also really fun!I loved the two main characters! Keenan is such a great guy, and I love his protector's heart! Sakura is a complex character and sometimes not the most likable on the outside, but when you get to know her heart and her reasons, it makes sense. It makes her and Keenan's relationship interesting because it takes time for him to see past the walls she's built around herself. I need to talk about the plot twist! It was masterful! I am one of those people who usually sees the twist coming, but I confess that here I did not! It made total sense, but I didn't see it coming and that impressed me! I admit that I'm reading this series out of order , but despite that fact, I was not confused about anything. I recognized some characters as main characters from previous books, and I really want to go back and hear more about them! Speaking of, it ends on... not really a cliffhanger, but Keenan has to go and find his friend before he and Sakura's wedding, which leads into the next book: a Beauty and the Beast/Puss in Boots retelling, which already looks amazing from what we see in the epilog!This was truly an enjoyable listen! The narrator's voice really draws you into the story, and she did a fantastic job of the voices and accents!

I knew there were going to be accents based on the setting and names of the characters. But Elaine K. Schultz does an amazing job with the accents. Elaine really made the story authentic, and I definitely loved being emerged back into this interesting retelling. I loved hearing the voices to characters I loved. Cherry is my favorite. You can easily follow along with the book and it feels like its a movie that is playing out in your mind. If you like retellings, closed door romance, and mythical creatures this is the adventure for you.
