The Trust Beneath The Soil

A promise made in childhood. A secret buried beneath the soil. A truth waiting for decades to be uncovered.

When a young boy is entrusted with a mysterious package by a beloved neighbour, he gives his word to protect it and never reveal its existence. Years later, after the woman vanishes without a trace, the secret remains buried—both in the ground and in his heart.

More than thirty years later, now a successful lawyer, he returns to the place where he once hid the package. What follows is a journey into forgotten memories, lost loves, betrayal, guilt, and the hidden lives of ordinary people.

Set against the backdrop of rural western Turkey, The Trust Beneath the Soil is a moving literary story about loyalty, memory, and the promises that shape our lives long after childhood has ended.
