Summary
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A special 25th anniversary edition of the beloved book that has changed millions of lives with the story of an unforgettable friendship, the timeless wisdom of older generations, and healing lessons on loss and grief—featuring a new afterword by the author

“A wonderful book, a story of the heart told by a writer with soul.”—Los Angeles Times

“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.”

Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For Mitch Albom, that person was his college professor Morrie Schwartz.

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn’t you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger?

Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man’s life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final “class”: lessons in how to live. “The truth is, Mitch,” he said, “once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”

Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie’s lasting gift with the world.

I purchased this to accompany reading the text in class. The narration doesn't follow the book word-for-word, but the concepts and ideas are the exact same. A few of my students said that the narrator read too fast, but I didn't find the pace to be too rapid. No matter how you look at it, this is a great book with an amazing message.

I really enjoyed this audiobook, and I plan to listen to it again. And maybe again! It is certainly an inspiring story with a man and his friend, that ultimately goes on to share so many valuable life lessons. Enjoy it.

This book was beautifully written and presented!!

Very endearing. I am a retired hospice nurse and have had many patients tell me there’s worse things in life than dying. How refreshing it is to know that there are young people interested in spending quality time with the forgotten people of the world. The dying.

Inspirational!

Needs another update. I would love this story more if it was re-written and/or re-narrated for audio listeners. The student/author of this book narrated him to sound childlike. He also used descriptors of people groups

Fabulous book. I read it long ago and listened to it again recently. It is one of the few books I have read that can be re read over and over. You will get something different out of it each time. Loved that at the end they played some of the actual interviews with Morrie.

I was emotionally sucked in multiple times throughout the book. The narrator did a great impression and distinction for morrie’s voice. The lessons and perspectives that were taught and explained best toward the end were powerful and motivating and encouraging and hopeful. I’m very happy that some of the recordings were actually placed in the book at the end for us to hear him personally

great book

Profile Avatar Anonymous Sep 2019

I enjoyed this book because of the subject matter primarily. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it was read way too fast for my taste, it took the joy out of it for me.

Profile Avatar Stephen G. Jan 2019

I really loved the book. I have recommended it to a friend that had his mother die of ALS . Morris death and the dieing were truly beautiful if that were possible.

Profile Avatar Chang W Sep 2017

I was lucky to have this book for my audio book! Such a touching and meaningful biography book! I like the last recording part! When I heard Morrie's sound from recording that made me cry.

Profile Avatar Julie Simpson Jan 2017

Great recording and I love ordering audiobooks from here.

Profile Avatar Desiree Yamase Jun 2015

Great audiobook! Narrator is easy to follow and the story is wholesome and touching.

First chapter was interesting; rest became repetitive and couldn't keep my interest. My bugaboo ... abridged versions. That could be the problem.
