Summary
The perfect family. The perfect house. The perfect life. All gone now. What could cause a man, when all the stars of fortune are shining upon him, to suddenly snap and destroy everything he has built? This is the question that haunts Sergeant Ryan DeMarco after the wife and children of beloved college professor and bestselling author Thomas Huston are found slaughtered in their home. Huston himself has disappeared and so is immediately cast as the prime suspect. DeMarco knows-or thinks he knows-that Huston couldn't have been capable of murdering his family. But if Huston is innocent, why is he on the run? And does the half-finished manuscript he left behind contain clues to the mystery of his family's killer? A masterful new novel by acclaimed author Randall Silvis, Two Days Gone is a taut, suspenseful story that will break your heart as much as it will haunt your dreams.

"whoile, whoeat, whoite" narrator puts too much emphasis on wheat, white and while and whatever else starts with a "wh". if you've ever seen the family guy episode when stewie says "cool whip" wrong. if you can handle that for a whole 8 hours then this book is for you.

Too much profanity, couldn’t think of any word but the F word which was repeated over and over. I had to finish because the story line griped me, But will not listen to another one of series unless he cleans up the language.

Story was just ok and the gratuitous foul language that was even recognized as such was off-putting.

This was a good detective novel. It had good pacing that revealed the mystery in good time. I sometimes find myself getting hung up on the tiredness of traditional gender representations and did so with this novel. I think Ryan DeMarco has potential to be an interesting character but he was a bit rough in this book. The writing about writing and authors I fear was somehow autobiographical but an interesting aside to consider.

Slow in parts and a lot of unnecessary profanity and F-Bombs galore. Other than that, not bad.

There is a very good story line here, but the profanity gets to be too much and seems to needlessly increase as the story builds. Worth listening to if you can get past that.

Not the best read I've had. Too much unnecessary detail in places which made my mind start to wander off page. Didn't do a good job keeping me interested. Story line was so/so. Wouldn't care to read again.

Book is ok, but awkwardly organised. The ending wasn’t gripping enough for me to want to keep listening. The narrator sounded good at first, but his overemphasis on “Wh” sounds slowly got really annoying.

The book was great. I couldn’t wait to hear the next chapter. The narrator was exceptional. I could just picture the characters as he voiced for them, especially the state policeman. I drive an hour to and from work, and I can’t wait to get ready and get in my car in the mornings!

I thought this was pretty darn good! I picked it up as a bonus book. I'll read more of his stuff. I thought the narration was just fine.

It was a good story but too dark for me. I should have known better from the description. I could have handled it though but couldn’t stand all the foul language. I skipped to the end to find out who did it and went on to another book.

The book was very slow to start off but the middle and ending were very intriguing. I enjoyed the narrator !

I stopped reading about 1/2 way through. Didn’t like the direction it was going and didn’t feel invested. Also didn’t like the excessive and pointless cursing.

Dragged on a bit and lost interest towards the end. The narrator's overemphasis of the "wh" words was grating and I found some of the writing a bit on the cheesy side.

There was something missing from this book and I can't really put my finger on what it is. I never connected with the characters and fell asleep while listening a couple of times and had to go back to figure out what I missed - and when I did that I found that I hadn't actually missed anything important.

Not a bad listen but for me, I just found it a bit laggy, just wanted it to get properly going.
