Unabridged Audiobook
I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. Went in blind and wow. Absolutely one of my faves now
Totally unexpected it’s.. Shocking. This Author completely blew me away with this story and the performances by Joe Arden and Lee Daniels, completely ruined me! If you’re looking for HEA you won’t find one in this story as the Author takes us through the mindset of a brilliant man turned serial killer. This audiobook will wreck you! 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️//3.5
Loved this book and story line ! Thr narration was great too!
Amazing
I am no stranger to dark romance, but this was emotional. Their romance and recovery when things get traumatic is
I enjoyed this book, I read it first .
Whoa! Get ready for a wild roller coaster! This book is not for the faint of heart! I’m not giving anything away, but I lost sleep, refusing to stop listening. You’ll be on the edge of your seat until the very end, which, by the way, is a total mind f*ck!! Get ready to lose sleep!!
The book is very well written but it is very very dark. A couple of times I considered not finishing it because it was too dark for me
this book is i cant even come up with words amazing thriller scary horrifying just so so so so so good
So good I couldn't put it down, but it has ripped my soul from my body, reached in and cut my heart to ribbons! Much love to the author, Ariel, and the narrators, Lee and Joe. Amazing
I was obsessed with this book! The storyline is great but I had to fast forward thru some of the sex scenes (it was too much, too often). Very dark. Narration is awesome!
what a tensed book. the sexual detail was to much for my liking, but the storyline was good
I was not ready, found this book through a tiktok audio and was absolutely not ready. Its so well written, the voice actors do an amazing job. 10/10
While this book is a very good read it was also hard to listen too from a trauma stand point. The ending took me completely by surprise. The narration was exquisite.
I went into this not knowing a thing except that it would be dark and tragic. Go in blind but do not take the trigger warnings lightly as this has to be one of the most gut wrenching things I have ever listened to; I read a lot of dark romance and I can't remember the last time I had a visceral reaction to an ending so this one is going to stick with me for a while. I thought the end of part one was rough but that ending was something else. It was a long listen and although I was engaged, I did find the pacing was a little slow for me overall and there were a couple of plot points which could have been fleshed out more. I worked out the major reveals but I couldn't put my finger on whether it was intentional by the author to really ramp up that ending as none of the characters (from what I remember) know the full truth about the events in the book so the listener/reader is the only one with the full picture. Lee Daniels and Joe Arden put in great performances and there are some really tough scenes for both narrators as Elena and Christian are complex characters working through their own traumas whilst also trying to support the other. Although there is a lot of bleakness in this tragedy, there are still some sweet moments as Elena and Christian's banter is a highlight in amongst the angst and you will fall in love with Caroline. My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
Under Your Scars by Ariel N. Anderson is a dark romantic tragedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Lee Daniels and Joe Arden. This is the first book of Ariel's that I have read, and it won't be my last. This is definitely one of those books I don't want to give any spoilers away on. So, I will start by saying if you have any triggers please read the warnings before diving into this book. This book completely wrecked me, but I would read it over and over again. I can't wait to jump into the novella Delilah that is set seventeen years after the events in this book. Joe and Lee did an absolutely amazing job on this book. I don't think you could have picked any better narrators to bring this story to life. I could feel everything the characters were feeling. I would highly recommend this book if you're looking for a dark romantic tragedy. This book definitely is not for everyone. So, I will say it again, please check the warnings before diving into this book.
Wow, just wow, this story blew me away so much so it left me speechless and believe me it takes a lot to leave me speechless and that is exactly what this book is, a lot and so much to take in and digest. Ariel N. Anderson is a new to me author and consider me impressed, with both her writing style and creative mind. She created an original and multilayered story with complex characters, a romantic tragedy like no other. I highly recommend going into this book with an open mind and knowing as little as possible, so it is best to avoid spoilers and just enjoy the ride, a dark and twisted ride, so check trigger warnings in you have any. [potential spoilers removed] The story is captivating from start to end, and once I started it, I did not want to stop because I needed to know what happened next. This romantic tragedy has non-stop drama, twists and turns you never see coming, some gut-wrenching moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The world building and character growth and development are phenomenal, too. Ariel N. Anderson, thank you for this amazing story and wild and emotional rollercoaster ride. ~ And for the amazing audiobook production, Lee Daniels and Joe Arden’s exceptional performance knocks this book out of the stratosphere! Their character voices are fitting and I loved how they took each role, ran with it and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined they would sound. Daniels nailed it as Elena, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her insecurities to her strength and determination. Arden was just as amazing in his roles, and did the same for his characters, showcasing his character’s traits perfectly. and wow, there is nothing like his chiller/thriller villainous side. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another outstanding listen!
