Unabridged Audiobook
I feared this was going to be just a silly "chic book" but actually REALLY enjoyed this! Yes, it was definitely "light reading" but was also a little thought-provoking (making me reassess MY priorities in life!). I adored the narrator, too - can't imagine what would have been lost if I had actually read the book - instead of listening to her pleasant accent!
Cute story, very predictable. Well read and fun to listen to.
Sophie Kinsella always manages to make me laugh with her books and this was no exception. Totally implausible story, but who cares?
Lots of fun! Funny, smart, full of good characters. Thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Cute story, I recommend this book to someone just looking for an entertaining fun story.
Very entertaining & fast-moving. I couldn't stop listening.
I loved listening to this book it is lighthearted and ever so funny! Just what I needed as I sat in traffic or waited in the car for someone. Made me laugh on my way to work as I thought about it. Couldn't wait to get back in my car just to listen to what was going to happen next. I passed it on to a friend who also enjoyed it.
You need to suspend reality a little bit for this book, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a good love story.
i like this book more than confessions of a shopaholic. i couldnt help from laughing so hard (i was in the ofc, by the way) when samantha's saying that she preferred using the nimbus 2000, over a very high-end flat iron. hahaha that was hilarious! funny. funny, funny....
Very well read story of a lawyer laying low as a housekeeper in England. End is pretty predictable, but cute story anyway.
Highly recommended. It was funny, entertaining and heart warming.
I really enjoy Sophie Kinsella's books. They are light reading and very enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
What a great book. So outrageous, so silly, and then the love story to boot. And the narrator really separated all the characters beautifully. Very engaging. An enjoyable listen!
I was disappointed in this book. It seemed rather silly and the plot was too simplistic.
Never made it to the end, I don't know if it was the person reading the book or the book itself. Lost my interest quickly.
This was a terrible book. I almost returned it everyday, but didn't have anything else to listen to! The reader's voice is very shrill and annoying -- for every character. The plot is very obvious and there isn't a bit of suspense. Even the "funny scenes" weren't really funny because they were so obvious. Most disheartening, the whole message seems to be that, as a woman, we have 2 choices: power mean-man-like attorney or maid. Somehow, I'm pretty sure there is a middle-ground, but this "brilliant lawyer" character can't figure that out. Very annoying.
Laugh out loud and great story. It was completely entertaining and captivating.
This was another cute book by Sophie Kinsella. I LOVED "Can you Keep a Secret". This one was a little different, but still cute. I really like the person who reads this book. She had an excellent voice for the character "Trish" right on target. I would recommend this book if you like "Chick Lit."
Really fun book -- exactly what I have come to expect from Sophie Kinsella. I love her work. It was nice to have a protagonist that didn't whine all the time!!!!
I found this book to be slightly shallow -- not very involving characters. I also found the reader's voice a bit sharp for my taste. Actually, I listened to the first disk and then simply sent the "book" back. I feel that if I haven't become sympathetic to the heroine by the end of the disk, why continue?
Clever and enjoyable. A good fun read. Kinsella seems to understand and to be able to articulate the human condition in all of its unflattering forms.
Very light and funny and a good way to pass the time! This audio, although at times very unbelievable, is worth the listen and will provide the listener with more than a few laughs, but then, there is really nothing like English style humour is there?
Do you think a woman with flour in her hair trying really hard to cook but failing funny? Me either. It is just cliché, predictable, and recycled. Undomestic Goddess is the most pathetic Cinderella remake yet. It makes Maid in Manhattan seem like Shakespeare. Yes, it is that bad. And so is the message: Learn to cook, follow your man, and say the work f*ck a lot. *awesome*
Have to agree with other listeners... this is a fun, entertaining and enjoyable listen. Even though it dragged a bit in the middle... I had lots of fun with this audiobook and would recommend it - half way through the first CD you're definitely hooked!
This one is for the girls - but what a riot. And I loved the ending. Great read for a vacation, or poolside relaxation
This was a cute, light story. Very enjoyable read.
I liked this book. It is a nice book to relax with while driving to and from work. Parts of it were a bit far fetched but of course it is fiction. The narrator did a good job will all the English accents. If you are looking for a fun book that you don't have to put a lot of thought into, then this will be a good one for you!
Laughed out loud! Great for putting your life in perspective, especially if you find yourself a bit of a workaholic. Sweet little love story thrown in for good measure and some wonderful supporting characters. Sophie has done it again!!! Rent this one ASAP!
Let's face it, when you're reading a Sophie Kinsella book, you're not looking for the theory on relativity. It's a light fun book and enjoyable. At first, I thought it rang similar to the Shopaholic books, but as Samantha's character developed, it was totally different. I really enjoyed it - I'd love to hear more books like this!
Fun and Entertaining! Characters are very enjoyable.
When I first started listening to this, I groaned, "Oh great! It's just another Shopaholic book." Now, I loved the Shopaholic books, but I wanted Sophie Kinsella to expand a bit. But then, the book took a turn, and it is, I think, one of her best works yet! I would really like to see the unabridged version released, but for now, this was excellent!
I loved Can you Keep A Secret. I did not like this book. The reader was very good at bringing the story to life. I however hate Samatha by the end of the book. I was very disappointed.
This was a fun little book, but i gave it only 4 stars because it was rather predictable.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. It's an easy and entertaining listen.
I found this to be one of Kinsella's better books. The main character starts out entertaining and remains that way when usually Kinsella's characters get annoying at times. I found it interesting and kept my attention.
Somewhat predictable but it was a cute book. I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. Sophie Kinsella's great.
