Unabridged Audiobook
Detective Inspector Stacy Wise is a wizard who investigates and enforces magical law while hiding the magical world from her non-magical colleagues and the rest of the non-magical world. Stacy does an admirable job of pursuing justice, following the law and her own moral code, and meeting the obligations placed on her by her superiors. Heather G. Harris did a great job of building the tension of the investigation and the pressure Stacy was feeling from several directions. She also added moments of levity that broke up the tension. Loki, Stacy's magical bird companion helped lighten the tone frequently. I really enjoyed learning about Stacy's family, her partner/trainee, and Robert Krieg! I'm looking forward to seeing all of those relationships grow! You can read about how Stacy meets Loki, Robert Krieg, and Jude Jingo in Frustrated Justice. This book is set in the Other Realm Universe, there are other books in that universe, but you don't need to have read any of them to understand or enjoy this book. The audiobook is narrated in British English, Aylse Gibbs does a great narration, each character has their own distinct voice.
