Summary
In one moment, two lives will be changed forever … and forever … and forever.

The one thing that’s certain is that they met on a Cambridge street by chance and felt a connection that would last a lifetime. But as for what happened next … They fell wildly in love or went their separate ways. They kissed or they thought better of it. They married soon after or were together for a few weeks before splitting up. They grew distracted and disappointed with their daily lives together or found solace together only after hard years spent apart.

With The Versions of Us, Laura Barnett has created a world as magical and affecting as those that captivated readers in One Day and Life after Life. It is a tale of possibilities and consequences that rings across the shifting decades, from the fifties, sixties, seventies, and on to the present, showing how even the smallest choices can define the course of our lives.

A creative idea for the story's foundation, but it left me feeling depressed and disappointed until the very end, when I finally felt a small lift in my spirits in the final pages.

I enjoyed this book because the structure was so different. I get tired of the same type stories. It was a little hard to keep up with at first, but not too long into it I was able to keep the three versions separated. I love the idea that little decisions we make everyday can effect the outcome of our relationships and lives. I mean think about it: turning down a loved one night may prevent a certain child from being conceived, while the very next month a different child is conceived. This has always fascinated me. This book should appeal to those that believe in one true love as well as those who believe there are many people we are comparable with. The one love that cannot be jilted in this telling is the Grim Reaper. It would have been great if the main character in one of the versions had quit smoking so that part of the best ion could also have had a different outcome. This is one of those stories that you just can't help applying to your own life. How might my life have been different if........

The narrators are fabulous. The story is creative and interesting, a little slow at times...if your re looking for a page turner this is not the book for you. If you enjoy intellectually challenging books this is it! all in all worth the price or credit!
