Unabridged Audiobook
I did tandem read while reading physical book and this is great audiobook. Like all narrators but the last one didn't care much about. I am so proud to have finished War and Peace. I read it slowly, one chapter a day, with footnotes and tangents (Simon Haisell) truly the best way to approach such an epic novel. There are sections and characters you will love, and others you may hate, but all of them begin to feel like part of your life as you follow their stories through 1812. I know I’ll be thinking about Pierre, Natasha, Princess Marya, and Nikolai for a long time. War and Peace is rich and unbelievably human, and somehow feels strikingly current both in the best and worst ways.
Well I think this audiobook is brilliant. The changes of reader seem to annoy some people, but each person gets about 15 hours then they hand over, so it's hardly a regular issue! I liked each reader for different reasons and it only took me about 5 minutes each time to forget that the reader had changed at all.All of the readers do a good job of acting out the characters, giving them voices and emotion, not just reading the words straight. I don't think I've ever been so engaged with an audio book. It was my constant companion when walking, tidying, gardening, cooking etc.
Well … it took me like 2 months and 2 books in between to finish , at tienes felt like a chore … but i am glad I did. Once you understand that every interaction no matter how trivial it seems … speaks loudly on the authors philosophical / political / and religious views. Didn’t like the constant changes of reader … but it’s part of the deal . It’s a Classic and a must read …
Good read
