Summary
This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

The Wars of the Roses, typically referred to as the Civil Wars, were a series of civil wars carried out in the mid-to-late fifteenth century over control of the English monarchy, objected to by advocates of 2 competing cadet lines of the noble Home of Plantagenet: Lancaster and York. The fights got rid of the male family trees of both dynasties, leaving the Lancastrian claim to the Tudor family. Following the dispute, the Tudor and York Homes combined to form a single imperial dynasty, putting an end to the competing claims.

The conflict emerged from the after-effects of the Hundred Years' War and its resulting socio-economic issues, which damaged the English monarchy's eminence, the development of structural issues of bastard feudalism and the effective duchies created by Edward III, and Henry VI's psychological imperfection and weak rule, which reignited interest in Richard of York's claim to the throne. Historians are split on which of these components was the main reason for the wars.
