Unabridged Audiobook
A moving, thought-provoking and often challenging book about our place in the world and how we treat our fellow beings, non-human animals. There are some astonishing statistics - vast amounts of money spent on costumes for domestic pets in the USA, far outweighing the amounts spent on protecting endangered species, for example. Millet urges us to think of our children and grandchildren and of their future in a world that we have degraded, and without the company of so many living beings - others - that we have destroyed. The book is impassioned, funny, elegantly writtten. It would serve as my own personal manifesto. Everyone I care about will be getting a copy for Christmas!
