Unabridged Audiobook
Great piece! It was easy to follow, beautifully written, and very unsettling. The narrator was absolutely wonderful. Her voice was clear and crisp. Overall, an enjoyable listen.
The subject matter of the Wendigo has seen a number of treatments, but I think this may well be the best. The story is vividly told, both horrifying and engaging. Amy Gramour has good diction and good voice. Sh also gives a little bit of a performance, which not all LibriVox readers do.
Haunting story that sticks with you.
Loved the sad tale. Interesting story of woe and terror. She told the story in her hypnotic voice for me.
loved this book.
Very boring, there was nothing exciting. I think the name is misleading. Where were the Wenigo’s. There were none. Did not like. Would not recommend
It was fascinating, almost could believe it was based on a true story. Very scary!
Great read.gripping story line
I could barely suffer through the first part of the first chapter. Ugh. I had to quit. Nothing grabbed me. I was actually annoyed with the style of writing, even the narrator tried to be interesting, but you can only work with what you’re given and it just gave nothing.
Racism in the first 5 minutes… not a good surprise.
It was an OK listen.
Not the most interesting story and the narrator was annoying at times
This tale disappointed me. I expected a story as awesome as "The Willow". Not so. This one dragged on. I was happy when it finally concluded! Narration was good.
the story sets up the wilderness perfectly as one of the key characters and the atmosphere is such that you could almost imagine your amongst the characters in this story except the narrator never seems to give proper emphasis for what's going on in the story she's very flat and almost monotone but she keeps a good pace so you just start to feel like you're overhearing somebody talking about a very boring experience.
Boring to listen to.
Good story well narrated. Felt like I was standing there looking at that bed of fresh bows
Too slow. I couldn’t continue to listen.
Whilst the story line was interesting I found the wording rather unnecessarily complex and over descriptive.
This was an interesting listen. the story was engaging, creepy, and a good length. If anyone is looking for an eerie folklore story I recommend The Wendigo.
Not bad. Not great either. Narration was just not engaging enough for me, could just be the story though.
OK for a short story.
Didn’t like it in the least
