What Girls Know

This book is a moment-by-moment 'micro-view' of one woman's healing journey from childhood sexual abuse by religious clergy members, racial trauma, and generational violence. Told through poetry and free verse from the perspective of a young adult in her late teens (the character of 'Anji'', this memoir weaves the power of love and connection throughout each verse as Anji learns to create wholeness within her, as well as outside of her, in her relationships and community. Anji's story offers insight, hope, and a road map for healing and walking the path where self and Self become one.
