Unabridged Audiobook
This book is an investment in you and your clan. You will learn how “what happened to you” has impacted your life and how you can learn, grow and build resiliency. Fantastic read! Thank you Dr. Perry and Oprah
This book should be mandatory for anyone who works with children. The authors have a nice rapport and it is as if you are listening in on their conversation. The simple suggestions made by Dr.Perry are something that one can grasp and implement easily.
It’s not about you! It’s about Opra
Really good book, I think everyone should listen to it, as a former educator and someone with a traumatic past this book offers valuable insight to our behaviors.
This was an insightful and powerful book. We all have had pain and some type of trauma. It has shaped us whether we realize it or not. Hearing the different stories from this book has given me new perspective. I recommend this book to everyone, we all need to listen and learn from others stories.
Incredible book, highly recommend
Worthwhile. Two take aways about giving others permission to treat us a certain way and Oprah’s definition of forgiveness.
outstanding, invaluable content. this info should be mandatory course work for anyone
great book and so insightful
Everyone needs to hear this book. We all have trauma and it shapes our behavior. I appreciated the relatable stories and the hopeful healing sections. Great book!
This book holds life altering information for anyone dealing with our children or adults who have dealt with trauma-and who hasn’t?! If our educators were required to understand this vital information it could transform how they deal with our injured children without putting them on unnecessary meditations! A must read for educators or anyone wanting to understand people in general.
Excellent book. Everyone should listen to this to better understand ourselves and others. The stories are moving and many can relate to them in some form or another. Both Opra and Dr. Perry were great narrators. I am grateful for the groundbreaking work Dr. Perry did to understand how the brain processes trauma.
A new way of looking at trauma.
This book has made it into my Top 3 so far. It feels intimate and insightful. The conversation style makes it feel more like a podcast than a book but yet, it is rich in information and interesting data related to the brain, healing and trauma. I loved it. The narrators have great engaging voices and when the switch between “heavier” content and stories makes the materials discussed more digestible and relatable. Absolute gem of a book.
I loved this book
great content that is useful on truma
Found this book very helpful and illuminating. Understanding the neuroscience behind the traumatic response explains a lot. If you can understand what your going through and from where it originates you can learn how to tame it.
Healing salve to the soul. A must read for this generation in hope to once again see and thus reconnect to one another.
Revolutionary
Brilliant learning about human nature and the constructive truth about trauma
Excellent!
