Unabridged Audiobook
This was a fascinating account that inspired me to learn more about Iranian history.
This was my VIP monthly selection so I could better understand the place my country is brutalizing. Shameful. For someone well-versed on this country/topic/geopolitics I can’t speak to how good this book is. For an ignorant person like me, it was a compelling look into the grassroots resistance movements inside a tyrannical government.
Very informative book about how the majority of Iranians, especially women, have been living in Iran for the past 50 years. The story starts under the rule of the Shah, the takeover by the Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979, and the years since. The Iranians are educated and appear to want Western technology, but have been under sanctions and living with limited goods and under ultra conservative Shiite rules. A good introduction to Iranians for those with no insight about life in Iran.
