Summary
Emma Woodson is hoping the cobblestone streets of Nantucket and the charm of her late husband’s family cottage will be the fresh start she and her young son, CJ, need. Securing a dream job at an art gallery is one more step along the path to a new life . . . and away from a piece of her history she hopes will never be revealed. Falling in love with the kind and handsome guy she hires to clean out the rental apartment above the garage wasn’t part of the plan.

Jameson Shaw came to Nantucket for one reason: deliver his letter to Emma and never return. But when he sees an opportunity to help her, he takes a chance, desperate to atone for his past. He never planned to keep his connection to her husband a secret or to fall in love with her. After all, he knows that their new relationship might not survive the discovery of who he really is.

I had a hard time liking the book. I didn’t know there was a religious aspect. It wasn’t too over the top. The development of the love story wasn’t there - it was really fast. The narrator didn’t give any voices to the characters, she just used her voice through the book. I wanted to like it. I finished it. I just thought it was so so.

Unfortunately, I can not continue on with the book due to the narrator.

Didn’t like the voice of the reader

The narrator’s voice is too grating for me. I couldn’t get through the fifth chapter. I have no idea how good the book is actually written.

An enjoyable story but the narrator only does one voice, her own. She reads well but most narrators have varying degrees inflection, tone and style to reflect each character. I found myself missing this skill set.

Sweet slow moving romance. Nothing spicy in it. It was pretty good.
