Unabridged Audiobook
Whirlwind by Kayla Grosse was an unforgettable, full-body experience. I devoured this audiobook in less than 24 hours because once I hit play, I physically couldn’t stop. From the very first chapter, I was in it — heart pounding, emotions swirling, and completely swept away by the storm Kayla Grosse created. Is it reckless for a master’s student to blur the lines with her hot, older professor—a legendary storm chaser? Without a doubt. But when a tornado strikes during Finley and Professor West’s first chase together, something far more dangerous than the weather pulls them in. Their forbidden connection becomes as volatile and electric as the storms they chase. The duet narration by Victoria Connolly, Grayson Owens, and Robb Moreira was nothing short of phenomenal. Their performances were powerful, emotional, and utterly immersive. The chemistry between the voices made every moment come alive — raw, real, and addictively intense. I absolutely loved the humor and enthusiasm Joey brought to the table! And the sound effects? Chef’s kiss. Perfectly placed, never overdone, and always enhancing the scene — they pulled me even deeper into the world and heightened every beat of tension, romance, and heartache. Kayla Grosse knows how to write a book that moves, and this one moved me — straight into a book hangover. Whirlwindis a gripping, steamy, and emotionally-charged romance that explores what happens when you chase the storm… and it catches you. Grab your headphones, clear your schedule, and prepare to be blown away.
What a wild ride. Whirlwind is a terrific title. It perfectly describes their romance and the excitement of tornado chasing. This was a flawless execution of a “Twister”-inspired romance. There was the excitement and anticipation of the dangerous tornado situations and the rush of will they, won’t they. Finley and Professor West bond over their love of unpredictable weather and their admiration of each other. The story was elevated by the lively and vivacious side character Joey. What an extraordinary romance. This is everything I’ve ever wanted from an audiobook. The characters voices were consistent no matter whose POV it was. It’s something I’ve been looking for in audiobooks.
The age gap was a little iffy at first but with the youngest of the two being at least 25 I found it not as bad. They are really cute together and I really liked the whole team they are all really fun and interesting. Would love to see a book just about Hawk and Joey. Over all a cute story and an easy read.
Loved this book.
Fast paced book to listen to, fun story and spicy bits. Enjoyed it all.
Nice and spicy with a good story
Relationship issues and insecure inner monologues with a side of smut. Generally, too much conflict to enjoy the fantasy
So this was uber cute. I liked it a lot. I now must find more books by Kayla Grosse . . . And, her name is Kayla
This book was a simple and cute read. Joey was hands down the best character.
when I first started to listen to this book I got really excited. I love a professor-student romance but there wasn't actually much of a story which is what made me give it a low review. There wasn't a build up of their relationship, the story started with them both already having feeling after years of being each other's student/professor. They went on one storm chase and bang - they're in love and together (on and off throughout the book which was also annoying) took me a couple days to remember to go back listen to this book. Wasn't one l'd rant about not recommend to people. The narrators though were brilliant!
Basic story line bit too simple
This book was fantastic! I'm a big fan of Twister and Twisters. Who would have thought that tornado chasing and romance could blend so well? Plus, the sound effects in the audiobook were a wonderful touch. I definitely recommend this book.
It was a entertaining book. I am not a fan of books using F#×k repeatedly. Narrators were very good.
it was on ok listening, the narrator are good and the story is light and cute.
This was fabulous! If you are a fan of the Movie Twister and want something professor x student, spicy, and age gap! Pick this up!
I’ve enjoyed the duet narration a lot, but I have to say Joey was kinda over the top both with the accent in the audio and with the whole daddy thing in the book itself. sound effects were an interesting touch and I appreciated the warning about them because those sirens are too familiar.
I listened to the audiobook version of Whirlwind and I freaking loved it. I am a sucker for tornadoes and storm chasers, and add to that a good age gap and some teacher/student romance and I'm a puddle!! Yes, the story had a lot of elements that resembled Twister but there was so much more here. The romance, the action, the friendships, the comedy. This audiobook was hard to put down. It grabbed me and did not want to let go. The story definitely had plenty of plot and action and a bit of delicious spice. Even though I loved Finley and "Tornado Daddy" Ryker, it was Joey that made me fall completely in love. He is such an adorable puppy and I hope with my entire heart that he gets his own book. The narration by Victoria Connolly, Grayson Owens, and Robb Moreira was superb. Their voices, their accents and inflections, and the sound effects were just pure perfection. Definitely one story I loved and cannot recommend enough.
