Lynette moved to the quiet mountainside village of Varismont to raise her only son in peace. But her tranquil life is shattered when disaster strikes twice in twenty-four hours; an earthquake traps a group of the village’s miners underground, and then a band of horned demons and their dragons land in the village in the dead of night.

Having escaped the drought and famine that are destroying his homeworld, all Koradan wants is to find a place to live in peace in the human world. But that’s a hard ask, when every human on the planet believes he’s the embodiment of evil. And when one of his team’s dragon mounts is injured and unable to fly, Koradan’s fear turns to desperation.

With both sides caught between a rock and a hard place, Koradan’s team and Lynette’s village strike a deal; if the powerful demons can rescue their trapped miners, Lynette will treat the wounded dragon – as much as it terrifies her to go near the beast. But as Lynette learns more about Koradan and his homeworld, she’s forced to admit they have more in common than she could ever have imagined. And horns aside, there’s something irresistible about an intense and muscular man who’s willing to risk his life to save a group of strangers.
