Winifred and the Watcher in the Woods

The Bairns of Bren - A continuation of the three book series, The Chronicles of Bren - are confronted with yet another incredibly difficult situation: their Grandfather, the High King of Bren is missing and Winifred is thrust into the magical land of Bren for the first time. The evil sorcerer, Morbus Umbra (his name means Shadow of Sickness), has cast a crippling spell, called a Corona Infirmitas (which means Mind Illness), over the mind of the king. Already suffering from the effects of the spell cast by Sepeleo Parkinson, which is unbreakable, this mind illness causes the King to believe he is a burden to his family and especially to his grandchildren. Part of Winifred’s task is to help her Grandfather overcome the lies of the enemy and to show him the Truth - that he is NOT a burden.


Winifred is tasked with seeking a way to save the life of the King but is told that her journey will be arduous and fraught with peril and that she must beware of a mysterious man called The Watcher in the Woods.


What follows is an edge-of-your-seat nail-biter of an adventure/thriller that you won’t want to put down as you become a part of Winifred’s quest.


As usual, so many new foes must be faced. So many dangers and unseen forces who seek to thwart Winifred and to bring her harm that you will find yourself rooting for Winifred and that you are a part of the journey with her.
