Although this was an interesting book that held my attention and was not predictable, I could not in good conscience rate it higher because of all the filthy language. I know there are many people who use that kind of language and are not offended by it, but I would be embarrassed if anyone heard me playing an audiobook like this because of the profanity. The story and characters could have been developed just as well without it.

Great book. Great Narrator. Really knows how to read a book and keeps your attention on wanting to listen to the story.

Loved the style, content and narration. Wasn't predictable, however, I wish the author did not take the Lord's name in vain so much. Other expressions will put the emphasis or emotion across just as well. Narrator was skilled and kept you engaged. Easy to listen to, except for the profanity.

I watch the series on Paragon first. I really enjoyed the book. It was my first by CJ Box.

Great Book, Lots of Action.

C. J. Box has become one of my favorite writers takes you right into the story and keeps you listening till the end. The narrator has an awesome handle on the voice of Joe Pickett. Can not stop listening book after book this series rocks a absoultly must read!

You hang on to all aspects of the story entering a world of a Rocky Mountain winter with deep snow and chilly temperatures. I found myself rooting hard for the protagonist’s family and hoping all turns out for the best!

Ok story, The narration was pretty good. I agree with other reviewers’ opinion regarding foul language- it’s not necessary for a good story.

Great story line, characters, landscape! It kept my interest from the beginning to the end. The narrator was excellent!

These books are entertaining. Started with the first book and now reading book four. It’s like a favorite TV series where you get to know the characters. Takes place in a tiny Wyoming town that really has the worst luck. I bought $3 off credits then the 2 for one books. Good narrator. The main character Joe is the last good man in town and he has a good family to fight for.

I absolutely love Joe Pickett and his family. Great series accept for the vulgar words! Do you think people would notice if you didn’t use vulgarity? No. No one would say, I loved the story but you didn’t use the F word. Try writing your next book without them,

I hadn’t heard of this author but the book sounded good and it was! The author weaves a nice back story to the characters and leaves you guessing on the plot. I’ll be back for more Joe Pickett novels.
