I love this story. It’s so captivating and beautifully written. However, I found the narration difficult to listen to. The volume changed dramatically from super quiet to really loud so I had to constantly adjust my headphones. I also thought at many points the narrators were mumbling and I think if I hadn’t already read the book, I would be lost for the plot.

This is one of my favorite books/series. This story hooked me from the first chapter. The chemistry between our main couple is one of my favorites to this day. The worldbuilding is great but not done in a long drawn out way, you get the world and the plot intermingled to perfection. The narration was done well, my ears were happy as I did housework.

Absolutely captivating. I was hooked immediately, and I cannot wait to finish the series! This is one of the best books I've read in years.

"The Witch Collector" series continues to be a favorite of mine. The story is unique and the world building is gradual without feeling overwhelming or complicated. I was given ALC for my honest review. I honestly couldn't imagine how the second edition could improve on what I felt was already near perfect story. I was very wrong. The added chapters from Nephele's POV gives insight on what it means to collected and the Frost King. Spending a little more time with Raina and Alexus together added to the tension and slow burn of their relationship. The additional material blends seamlessly. My only very slight con is when the female narrator voices Alexus. There were instances the inflection felt seductive for a non seductive scene. Though did not take away from the overall experience. I can not wait for book 4 "Kingdom of the Forgotten" February 2027.

I am so grateful for the opportunity for an ALC copy of this book. One that is one of my comfort reads. These characters have so much depth. The book is a fantasy romance a bit more fantasy then romance (like the perfect amount in my humble opinion). The narrators delivered this book beautifully.

I just finished listening to my third reread of “The Witch Collector” by Charissa Weaks thanks to an ALC, and somehow it was even better this time around, which I honestly didn’t think was possible. I’ve always loved this series, but hearing the story brought to life by the narrators took it to a whole new level. They captured every emotion so perfectly that I felt like I was experiencing the story for the first time all over again. The quiet moments, the banter, the tension, the heartbreak…every scene hit even harder when I could hear it. Knowing where the story is headed also let me catch so many subtle clues and little details Charissa planted for future books. Moments that seemed small during my first read now feel absolutely brilliant in hindsight. Alexus and Raina still own a piece of my heart, and their journey wrecked me all over again. The world-building, the magic, the slow-burn romance, the hope, the grief…it’s everything I love about romantasy wrapped into one unforgettable story. If you’ve only read The Witch Collector, I can’t recommend the audiobook enough. The narrators elevated an already incredible story into an immersive experience I didn’t want to end. Now excuse me while I impatiently count down the days until Kingdom of the Forgotten releases in February, because this reread somehow made the wait even more unbearable. I need it immediately.

I loved this even more the second time listening! I was able to catch more details I missed the first time! I was entranced by the incantations for the magic. The lore and all the gods got a bit confusing, I feel like I need a list or a map of who’s who for future reference. The narrators did such a great job!

Nothing gets me quite like a romantasy audiobook where the fmc is both capable and powerful and despite having an overwhelming desire to end the mmc she chooses to save him instead….multiple times. Not only that but she ends up realizing everything she thought she knew about her life and their people was wrong and is willing and ready to pivot as needed. Plus she does all of this while signing. The witch collector aka Alexus may be a big tough warrior but man does he get real soft for her. I found his back story absolutely fascinating and I’ll be curious to see how his past continues to play out in the present and future. The slow burn was just right especially given their situation and the spice was the perfect amount for that build up. I did find it hilarious too that he just went with it when she suddenly got really into taking out crows. The magic system was unique and intriguing while the world building was detailed without being overwhelming or boring. Although unlike Raina I would have been way more upset at how much her sister kept from her especially given her original motivation was revenge. I definitely need more of the side characters especially her sister and the frost king. The little bits we got from them had me craving more especially after knowing how powerful the sister’s magic also is. The narrators did a phenomenal job of bringing these characters to life and keeping up with the pacing of the story to make it feel even more magical and exciting. I am so intrigued to see where this story goes and I am not putting off this series any longer. I am officially hooked and ready to see where this adventure takes me.

Top 10 romantasy books for me. The Witch Walker series will always be my go to and I will forever recommend to others. If you have only read/listened to the 1st edition I highly recommend having a reread and listen to the 2nd edition. This was redone with the added and modified chapters and the narrators once again did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. ::Chef's kiss:: now I am going to have to continue on and relisten to the next books so I'm ready for the next release lol.

I loved this book when I read it so was excited for the audio version. It was so hard to get into the audio for the male characters during Raina’s chapters. I loved the narrator for Alexis chapters. Amazing book otherwise.

I loved the audiobook! Dual narration and both voice actors were phenomenal. I am a huge fan of this story. If you want an incredible fantasy adventure with a kickass witch FMC and a mysterious MMC then you will love this book!

Amazing first book to a phenomenal series. It is full wonderful character development and immersive world building. Even if you read the 1st edition of this book, I highly recommend reading this edition, as the author has added two new chapters (and about 2 additional hours in the audio version) of information/details that have been hinted at being important for upcoming releases of the final books in the series.

This book is amazing! I love it so much!

Enemies to lovers, found family, Witches, and magic. What more could you want from a story? I love how Charissa weaves the story together with little twists and turns along the way. The narrators are fantastic. My only "issue" is that Meg Sullivan speaks quite a bit slower than Tim Campbell, so I had to adjust my speed a bit to find a sweet spot. Otherwise, I was overly impressed by the narration and the story itself.

The narrators for The Witch Collector absolutely outdid themselves! While listening at 2x speed the story flowed perfectly within the characters. Meg Sylvans voice is amazing as Raina. She will go to the ends of the earth to protect her family and friends!! Alexus played by Tim Campbell had me screaming in the car while listening!!! By the end of it I didn’t know whether I wanted to straddle him or use my witch powers on him! I might actually feel like that about a certain king too! I’m absolutely obsessed and need book 2 on audio because there’s no way I can read it without these two narrators in my ears!

The Witch Collector was a creative blend of classic fairy tale tropes while simultaneously intentionally turning them on their head. I was immediately invested, wondering how this enemies to lovers romance would play out. The magic system, too, was interesting, and I thought it was a brilliant idea to have a witch, in a world where magic is tied to songs, who is mute, and so she finds a way to make her magic flow through sign language. The story gave me Beauty and the Beast meets Jack Frost meets Game of Thrones vibes, and I was here for it. The narrators were great. I love Meg Slyvan and Tim Campbell. The dual audiobook format worked well, since the book is written where the POV changes by chapter. I’ll definitely be picking up the rest of the series. I was gifted the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book ahwhile ago and absolutely loved it and was really excited to listen to the updated audio, which did not disappoint! The added chapters from Nephele's perspective added so much and helped round out this story more cohesively. Raina and Alexus reminded me why I fell in love with romantasy! Raina is such a fearless and brave FMC. Girl never backs down and I love her for it! And Alexus is obsessed with her from the get go and I was here for him being down bad! The tension between these two is tangible and the angst is unrivaled. The slow burn was slooooow but the anticipation kept me listening fervently. Dual Narration by: Meg Sylvan and Tim Campbell Meg Sylvan absolutely nailed Raina's character. She did such a great job of evoking the rollercoaster of emotions that Raina experiences and performs the accents beautifully. I could listen to Tim Campbell as Alexus for days and weeks and not care that it was all I was listening to. The accent, the inflections, and the tones were performed in a way that brought Alexus to life.

Reread via audiobook about 3 years from when I originally read and it was AMAZING still. I love Raina so much and the new audiobook just brought a whole new level of intensity and life to the story. I loved following Raina & Alexus through their journey together fighting outside influences while also fighting the budding attraction between them. The pacing of this story is excellent, something is always going on. The world building is introduced slowly in a way during the development of the story/plot so it doesn’t feel overwhelming to read or listen to, especially listening because sometimes even zoning out a little can cause major confusion in a fantasy world. The romance is slow building but soooo perfect and swoon worthy. And the twists at the end are INSANE. I can’t wait to finally read the other books in the series now that I’m caught back up. Thank you to the author for the 2nd gen audiobook!

I LOVE this book! The magic system is so unique and cool, the lore is unraveled at a perfect pace and the romance is slow but in a satisfying way. If you appreciate a slow burn but with TONS of chemistry and high stakes, this is the Romantasy for you. Pairs well with a German Pinot Noir, well suited to colder climates!

Loved this! Narrators did an amazing job, I have physically read this book prior but still felt so engaged listening to it and I think they have truly done the story justice! Listening pushed me for a reread that was much needed!

This is a reread of this book for me via audiobook this time. I still absolutely love the premise of this book. This starts off quite fast paced and the story immediately draws you in. I do, again, feel as though the story drags some in the middle when our characters are in the magical construct, but I still had fun with this overall. Some parts of the relationship on this are a bit instantaneous and cheesy, but again, a really enjoyable story, and I know that the books in this series keep getting better. The narrators were not my favorite and I did not care for the voices that they would do when speaking out parts for characters of the opposite sex. I would recommend doing a physical read of this instead of audio.

Is it after 6am? Yes. Did I wake up early? No. I'm sure y'all can do the calculus there. I was just sitting down to read a little more. I was at 30% and thought I'd maybe get halfway, but this book had me gripped from the start. Raina Bloodgood is a particularly fascinating FMC. A witch, but she has no desire to join the army of Witch Walkers. She's determined, instead, to save her sister from the Witch Collector and his Frost King. Raina is a woman on a journey toward revenge, but all is not as it seems. This journey had me kicking my toes (and also ready to throw something a few times), but I think Raina's ability to face her emotions head makes her my favorite FMC in a WHILE. Also, she's mute, but not deaf. The pausing and putting things down to sign become more natural the more you read, and if that's not awesome rep I don't know what is. Alexus Thibault can GET IT. I admit, there were a few points where he got a little, "oh no, my lobster is too buttery," in that he's a BIG man, he's kind, considerate, super into enthusiastic informed consent....oh but also he's basically Squidward for how many other shoes drop! But your honor, I don't care. That awkward, hot man wants to taste her and that's all I need to know. He does, by the way. Taste her. This book is so horny and it was DELICIOUS tension that they kept fighting! But alas; some things cannot be fought forever. It's on page and explicit, but my favorite thing is that with how horny this book is, it's actually still a super slow burn. Chef's kiss. I immersive read, and the audio on this one really kept me engaged. Each character has their own pitch and cadence without being campy or annoying. It's a huge help identifying who is speaking at any given time. While I personally prefer duet narration style, the cost is prohibitive to many new authors, so I end up listening to quite a bit of dual narration. I didn't find it bothered me that this was dual! While yes, each narrator gave their characters different voices, each narrator's consistency made it easy to follow. Meg Sylvan's voiceover feels natural. You know how some narrators feel like they're putting on a voice? It's exhausting to listen to because all I can think of is how sore their throats must be. Sylvan doesn't sound strained; it felt like being told a story by a friend. I really appreciated the earnest tone, as it made shenanigans feel more natural! Tim Campbell is our male narrator, and he's no slouch either! I really appreciated the yearning he brought to the character, as well as the genuine care he took with this representation. There are always times in audiobooks when the male narrator pulls a growl that isn't implied in the text or something along those lines that yank me out of a book, but I didn't notice any here. He really felt like he took care to work WITH the other narrator. I also really appreciated how earnest Alexus comes across through his narration. His concern for the people never feels contrived or forced, and I cared about him because he cared so much about them. Overall, this was a delight. I should have read this years ago, but I'm so glad I've gotten to it now! I cannot WAIT for the next installment to release, and I'm delighted I have two more to read in the meantime! Seriously, I'd recommend this book pretty broadly. It hits so many of our favorite beats and carries tension without triggering my anxiety, and that is a beautiful thing.

I love the mystery and intrigue is this story! The lore and history of the gods was beautifully woven into the story. I really enjoyed watching Raina slowly begin the question everything she believed to be true as she challenged her biases. Her journey of sled discovery was also thrilling and inspiring. The slow burn romance was delicious and addicting. The narration fantastic! I love duet narration and I couldn’t have imagined better narrators to bring these amazing characters to life!

This story is such a fun ride! All of the characters are rich and dynamic, well written and don’t feel like caricatures. There are twists and turns and the spice is perfect. I’ve devoured all of Charissa’s books and eagerly await the next installment in 2027. The narrators bring the story to life. Thank you for the free ARC of this audiobook!!

I would give the story 3.5⭐️. I really wanted to love this one, but I found myself struggling to be completely sucked in. I’m not sure if it was the pacing or just me struggling to really connect with Raina and Alexus. I love that Raina doesn’t speak and has to communicate through signing. I don’t know that I’ve seen an FMC like this before so that in itself helps make this book more unique. The magic system is interesting but I wish there was a little more explanation of the runes and how they work. Admittedly, the ending did have me a little more intrigued by Raina’s choice and what comes next. I listened to an ALC of this which was given to be in exchange for an honest review. It was a dual narration narrated by Tim Campbell and Meg Sylvan. They each did a great job and I enjoy their work, but there was an issue with playback that might’ve been more technical I think. I listen at a faster speed than 1x. I noticed when it was the MMC parts, the speed was faster and the volume was louder so I felt like I had to adjust speed/volume the entire length of the audiobook which was distracting. It isn’t as noticeable at 1x but I can’t listen at that speed bc if feels like slow motion to me Maybe I will feel differently about the book if I just re-read a physical copy instead of only listening to it in the future. If I do that and it changes my mind, I will update my review.

I read/listened to the first version of this book and I loved it, now I have read/listened to this updated version and I love it even more. This book is very unique compared to a lot of other books I have read with the unique magic and differences with singing the magic. I adore that the MFC communicates with sign language. She is such a strong and resilient character. But the MMC is the best part of this book, mysterious, violent, caring, sensitive, ruthless, he has it all. There is so much hinted in this book about him and I can’t wait to find out more. The relationship slowly builds over the course of the book and it is done so well. I do wish there was a little more romance in this first book but with how far the characters need to go to get to romance it all worked as it should and leads to a scorchingly hot scene. This version of the book also adds a lot more small details that helps with future books in the series. I was really happy to see all the new additions and adjustments. I am so glad I gave this book a chance and then again with the new version, it is truly in my top 10 favorite books ever. Such a great beginning to the series!

Absolutely love this book and series! Re reading/listening together was a fabulous experience and I feel like the narrators did a good job! Some sections were very quiet and then the sound would jump back up again so I was altering my headphones often but otherwise was great!

I received an ALC of this updated edition for my honest review and it provided a great opportunity to revisit the rich, magical world Charissa Weaks has built. The audiobook features dual narrators, which adds nice depth to the characters. The female narrator delivers her chapters at a slower, more deliberate pace than the male narrator. I often listen to books on increased speed but dropped his chapters back to normal speed. Raina and Alexus are well crafted main characters. Their journey and the connection they develop is engaging and leaves you wanting more!

Received this as an ALC for the updated audiobook. I already have listened to this book and thoroughly enjoyed it, but now with the additional chapters, I love it even more. There weren't too many new chapters but all the qualms I originally had were resolved. There were certain moments of action that I was a little confused about the first read through. I also appreciate that now it's more show than tell. We get to see what Nephele is doing instead of just hearing about it at the end. And I will always be a bigger fan of that rather than a character just rattling off exposition. I'm quite pleased with the changes and as before, love the dual narrative. My one issue was when the male narrator was saying Raina's lines during the spicy scenes and moaning. Made me giggle cause it was comical hearing a man do a woman moan.

This was my second time diving into The Witch Collector, and somehow the audio made the entire experience feel brand new. I already loved this story on my first read — a solid 4‑star fantasy romance with magic, danger, and a heroine who refuses to be anything less than fierce, but the audiobook elevated everything. The dual narration was perfection. Meg Sylvan is Raina. She nails that exact blend of sarcasm, sass, and raw emotion that makes Raina such a compelling protagonist. Every line felt funnier, and more heartfelt because of her delivery. And Tim Campbell's performance had my brain painting an even clearer picture of Alexus. With the attitude, the accent, and the presence; he brought a depth to Alexus that made him feel more vivid. The story was already a favorite, but the audio added intensity, and immersion that made this re‑read even more enjoyable. The Witch Collector has officially cemented itself as a staple on my re‑read TBR, and now the audiobook is right there beside it.

I am just as in love with this series and these characters as I was the first time. It’s arguably better on a relisten because I am picking up the Easter eggs that come in later books. You might think this is insta lust…but you must keep reading. I cannot wait to reread books 2 and 3 and the release of book 4. *************************************** I am so happy I started this series! It is a fun delicious dark fantasy. The characters are lovable. The magic and world building was a little confusing at times but overall I loved it and yes it was insta lovey but I didn’t mind it. Their relationship seemed to grow naturally especially when they are in an environment where they might die and where Alexus almost dies a lot too LOL. Can’t wait to read the rest. Quotes: At least the last thing I will ever lay my eyes upon in this long life is a powerful woman of both beauty and fury. A soul delicate yet wild and so deeply moving, even if she does wish me dead. A tender intake of breath is what stays my hand. Even in this short time I’ve been with her, I’ve learned the way Raina shutters out an exhale, memorizing the sweet taste of her sighs. I recognize that breath, feel it, know it. I need her to know that I can be the kind of man who’s worthy of her trust, that I already am. I’m probably going to die soon because I will never tell them where Raina is and if they find her on their own, I will end my life trying to save her. I did enjoy this story more the second time I gave it a listen! Alexus is DELICIOUS and I love the magic lore. Meg Sylvan fell a little flat for me…literally. Her voice was overall just very flat and monotone for the most part and while it’s not a deal breaker for me it wasn’t my favorite performance.

The storytelling is wonderful and I cannot wait to continue the series. I did not love the female narrator choice. While she did a great job with expression and I really enjoyed hearing the pronunciation of the unique vocabulary, her sound was just different than I expected for Raina. I expected a more quiet, hushed voice. 5 stars for the story itself.

Riveting audiobook! The narrators are fantastic. This remains one of my favorite reads. Such great character depth and development. Raina and Alexus’s relationship was honestly so refreshing, with zero toxicity. I could also read books on all the supporting characters. The world building was beautiful, the story set mainly in haunting, wintery woods. And the magic system, history, and plot were so intriguing and unique! Did I mention there’s no cliffhanger?!

I reeeeeeaally liked this. I think this series is going to amazing. It’s thrilling. It’s romantic. It’s enemies to lovers. She saves him. He saves her. The spice is good, overall I was very pleased and happy to continue the series!

I absolutely was blown away by The Witch Collector. I had this book recommended to me so many times, and it completely deserves all the recommendations and more hype! The pacing was really fast and kept you on your toes as so much is packed into book 1! I loved the FMC, Raina. She was so fierce and feisty, and seeing her vengeance story was really intriguing because everything is definitely not as it seems. Then we get to the MMC, The Witch Collector, who had me swooning every step of the way. Alexus Thibault is pure husband-book material. I want to pick up book two and continue this series immediately. I felt that The Witch Collector had such a great balance of character development, interesting magic systems, and action and adventure. The narrators did such an incredible job bringing these characters to life. I thought the production was done really well and loved being able to do an immersive read.

I absolutely devoured this book and the rest of the series. It is a beautiful story, and not only is the romance well written but so are the friendships. However, I have given it 4 stars due to the female narration. I found that it was lacking for me. I cant handle the switch between her speaking normally and then speaking for Alexus. I found it very hard to figure out what she saying sometimes either due to the accent or the volume of her voice. Overall, the story on its own is amazing and I would not let the narration discourage you from reading!

I love this story and the addition of the new chapters give an extra understanding of the characters of Nephelle and Colden. I understand the cost involved with having multiple narrate audiobooks but I found it really hard to listen to the female voice the male characters and vice versa.

I absolutely devoured this book and was so impressed with the magic system and world building, so many high fantasy elements in such a small package. The FMC doesn’t speak!?! And it completely works! I did a tandem read with this audiobook and just loved the narrators! Raina is far too trusting and I think it was something that allowed for her massive growth as a character. I do have to say that my favorite character hands down was Alexus…dream book boy friend. I can’t wait to dive into City of Ruin! The narrators were incredible and instantly had me looking up their other books. They did a fantastic job bring not only the main characters to life but making you fall in love with the supporting characters too!

I felt like the additions to the book really help the story flow more and YAY for more Nephele in Winterhold POV!! This was prob my 3rd or 4th reread of this book and with the updates it felt like I was reading it all over again for the first time and I really enjoyed that experience!! One of my all time favorite series

I'm so happy to return to The Witch Collector series, I originally read the first three books years ago and immediately fell in love with the story and characters. The story hit different knowing the revelations from City of Ruin and I cannot wait for Kingdom of the Forgotten. The audiobook was great! Meg Sylvan is my favorite female narrator, her male voice is also my favorite, she puts such emotion into her narration that it brings the characters to life. This is my first Tim Campbell book, he did a great job bringing Alexus to life. I'd forgotten how sweet the slow burn is.

I am providing my review thanks to receiving an ALC. Knowing the next book instalment is coming soon, I was going to re-read the story so when the opportunity to listen came along I jumped at the chance. First, the story. Love it. I'm very much into Romantasy and just about everything in the story checks all the boxes, so five stars. Second, the narration. Um, sorry, but the Raina female voice actor Meg Sylvan is so annoying I can't finish listening to the book and am going to re-read it instead. I see that very few others have had this issue, so it's probably just me, but I find her to be overacting the part and it sounds whiny and slow and very irritating. Because I don't have an actual Audiobook account I lack the ability to listen at a faster speed, which might improve the listening experience. It's a relief when the narration switches POV to Alexis, though as Tim Campbell nails the part. So, those are my two cents.

I honestly can’t wait for the rest of this series! This is one book I LOVE going back to re-listen to, and the second edition made that even more true. So grateful to have been given an ALC of one of my favorite fantasy books. Not going to lie, when I first read (years and years ago) a summary, I didn’t think I could connect with a character that never spoke. Charissa did THE BEST job of showing how those without a voice are never voiceless!

I absolutely love The Witch Collector, it's romantasy at its finest with the added epic fantasy in for good measure. I love Charissa Weaks' writing style, she gives us lavish descriptions and characters that are so dimensional they seem like real people. The whole set up from the beginning hooked me as soon as I started reading and the chemistry between Raina and Alexus is fire! I read this novel first back in 2021 and even now I'm still hooked. I love the addition of Nephele's chapters hearing from her view point adds to the story. Back to reviewing the Audio, The two narrators did a fantastic job at bringing this novel to life. jt was brilliant, the way Meg Sylvan embodied Raina and brought her off the page - perfect and don't get me started on Tim Campbell, I don't think they could have picked a better voice to be Alexus. My god! They both exceed and brought us a fantastic edition. Their voices, Charissa's writing, the storyline just made this a fantastic listen.

I have loved this book since I first listened to it. The second edition brings depth and helps establish some relationships earlier, thanks to the addition of Nephale chapters. I swoon at Meg's Alexis, and adore the whole narration. Even on repeat listens I get chills at the end of chapter 45 (I believe) Cannot recommend it enough! if you enjoy creative magic systems, gods come to life and lushious romance, dig in.

I love this story! I read the book as a ARC a while ago so it was nice to revisit it and the characters again! I love a dual narrated audiobook! The issues I had with the audiobook were that the female narrator read so slow and the male narrator so fast, finding a speed that worked for me was difficult and I wish the male narrator had read the male parts during the female’s chapters and the female had read the female parts during the male’s chapters. But I was able to overcome both of those and thoroughly enjoyed the audio book!

I have read the book and loved it. I believe the narrators really did a great job bringing Alexus and Raina to my ears and I cant wait to hear the rest of the series

I got and ALC for my hones review and I couldn't have been more exited. Truly an amazing book. You can read and listen to the books in this series over and over and never get tired of them. It's easy to get lost in the book while doing household chores. Easy 5 stars!

I forgot how good this book was. I did an immersive re read this time. And honestly, 10/10. I’ve been in love with Alexus and Raina since I first read this book three years ago. The narrators brought the characters to life - they did them so much justice! Such a great listen!

I love this book! I was gifted an ALC of this second edition audiobook, and I couldn't stop listening. The storytelling is beautiful and the sisterhood between Raina, Nephele, and Hel warms my heart. The romance between Raina and Alexus is one of my favorite. I love his love for her. I had read the first edition a while back, and the new POVs in this second edition really add to the story (and help with the set up the second book). Can't recommend this series enough.

I loved this book and the audio makes it even more enjoyable. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing Raina and Alexus to life. The emotions that were so well written by Charissa shine through by the narrators and make me eager to listen to City of Ruin.

Absolutely love the world and magic system we get to experience with very beautifully written characters.

Easily one of my favorite romantasy books ever. There is a great balance of world building, character development, plot, and tension. The arc of Raina hating Alexis and the Frost King to her learning her sister's side/feelings was well done. This book also did a great job drawing out the tension and attraction between Raina and Alexis. It felt more natural, not rushed. The narrators fit the characters perfectly, which just added to my enjoyment of this book. I cannot wait for the conclusion to the whole series. Thank you Charissa Weeks for the ALC of this book. It will definitely be one that I listen to again (and again).

The FMC communicating via sign language was something I have not read before in a book, so that added an extra layer of uniqueness to this story.My only real struggle was the narration speeds. I always listen a little faster than normal, and for me, Meg Sylvan's narration sounded best around 1.6x, while Tim Campbell's worked best closer to 1.3x. Since the narrators alternate, I adjusted the speed every time they switched, which pulled me out of the story a bit. That's just a personal listening preference, though, and it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.Favorite quotes: "Only I would accidentally kill myself with the very weapon that could save me." "I don't know much about Alexus Thibault, but I do know he's as heavy as a f**king ox."
