Summary
The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

There’s one phrase that stuck with me: “I don’t want to see my family again and I have made peace with that”. That’s sums the book up. And many people’s life story. I’m glad she is free now.

Loved how the narration went along with the Benjamin Button narrative of getting younger with time.

I read this wanting to understand more about her and i suppose I learned a little. Sadly, I was disappointed in this book, as it felt mostly inauthentic and more of finding fault with others. Not trying to discredit her or her journey, it's that the book is not that well written, so I felt it missed the mark on story-telling ability. I cannot recommend this book.

I can't say I agree with every choice the author has done in her life, but I remained fascinated by her, as I remember when I saw her on TV many years ago. I never have listened to one Britney Spears songs entirely, but her name was imprinted in my mind, so when I saw this book, I took it. I wanted to look inside the life of a such a super star, and now I know now much she has suffered. I Wish God gives her happiness and that family love she so much needed.

Britney has been misunderstood so much, been hurt so deeply and it is only admiration that one can feel after listening to her book. Amazing. And awesome Michele Williams has done a wonderful job! I strongly reccomend it!

Loved this book. Brilliantly narrated by Michelle Williams. Her voice gave empathy to Britney's story. Insightful look into the back story of an artist that seemed to have everything on the surface only to learn there is so much more to the story. I only wish her the best of times for the future.

As a supporting fan of Brittany, I was enlightened by her tragic life. It was uplifting to hear her optimistic outlook despite her 13 year "imprisonment " from her father. It's definitely worth listening to before judging the life the media portrayed.
