Worth The Risk

This was my first book by Evey Lyon and it certainly won’t be my last! I absolutely loved this book ! It was such a great start to a new series and it has left me so ready for more! Hudson and Piper were the perfect match for each other. Both wanting what is best for one another and never wanting to hold the either back since they do come from such different worlds. SWOON! I cannot wait to see what is next for the Lake Spark crew! This is book one of the Lake Spark series and it can be read as a complete stand alone. Steamy Forbidden Vibes

Worth the Risk was a cute, quick read. It wasn't quite insta-love, but there was connection and real feelings very quickly. I enjoyed Hudson and Piper's growth from hook up to secretly being together, to eventually a real relationship. Things I liked: -The forbidden romance element -The age gap (which after I realized the age difference I was surprised because 17 years is the biggest gap I've ever read) -The story really focuses on Hudson and Piper's relationship -No other woman drama or senseless third act break up -Any drama is resolved relatively quickly Things I struggled with: -Piper was very worried about her friendship with April, but continually lied (in ways that could easily be found out) or put off telling April the truth -Toward the end Piper started to get very wishy washy about the publicity of the relationship My only other issue was a few phrases being used repeatedly throughout the story (e.g. people tilting their heads every time they're thinking), but otherwise I'm very glad I got the chance to read a book by this new to me author. The narrators did a lovely job as well.

Omg this age gap small town romance was everything and omg listening to this book was giving me all the serotonin I needed to get through today. Literally got so annoyed when I had to hop onto calls and was pulled away from the book. This is my first book of Evey’s and I’m about to read the rest of this series. I loved Hudson and Piper, the have a kind of opposites attract vibe and where he’s all in and Piper was a bit more hesitant. However, seeing Piper grow in confidence while being with Hudson was amazing growth for her, and he was very patient with her and firm when needed. I need me a man like Hudson, such a shame he’s fictional

I really love Evey Lyon’s writing! I started with the last book in the Lake Spark series and now I’m back tracking! This story is definitely a great listen! Piper and Hudson are adorable. I love their playful banter and all the spice! Can’t wait to jump into April and Spencer’s story!
