To think I almost didn't finish this due to frustration with the direction the author was going. About the time it picked up steam, I couldn't put it down.Plenty of surprising twists, brilliantly written and narrated, this book will stay with me for a really long time . Now I really need to go call my sister ...

Very good!

Profile Avatar Debra S. Jun 2026

Wow! Twists and turns you never saw coming and you had to hear everything to believe it. Fantastic!!

Profile Avatar Tirana S. Jun 2026

Book was decent. Felt like the author worked too hard to try to keep us guessing and was only marginally successful. Spoiler: the end was disappointing. Who, when trying to escape from someone chasing you, runs *up* the stairs? From there, the ending drug on forever. I mean, I wanted closure but it was a bit much. Narrator was good except she often read things like "she exclaimed, breathlessly" in a shocked, breathless voice. Read *what* the person exclaimed breathlessly in a shocked, breathless voice, not the statement describing how the words were spoken. (Not sure if that makes sense as written.) still, a narrator I would seek out again.

Profile Avatar Annie Jun 2026

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2026

Narrator was so good!

Profile Avatar Rybee Mar 2026

I really liked it… 3.5 stars. Def giving flowers in the attic meets modern world. The only thing I didn’t loveeee was feeling the two story lines were a bit disjointed. Or forced. Something felt off but. But then again, still worth it!

Profile Avatar Adriana L. Mar 2026

This was a great book!

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2026

I never thought I would say anything I read had too many twists but, this does. Would have been nice to be shorter and not try to titillate readers

Bit slow to start but once it got going it was riveting

Profile Avatar Miss F. Feb 2026

This was such a brilliant book! Gripping, so many twists and turns, but what I liked most was just how beautifully descriptive the book was. I felt like I was in Ledbury Hall and Blossom Hill House. It is the first book I have read by Dandy Smith. How have I not heard about her before?!? Un-put-down able! I’ve just downloaded The Wedding Vow - I enjoyed her style of writing so much!

Profile Avatar Arlene F. Feb 2026

Very engaging. I still didn’t know who’s it until the end.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2026

Good

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2026

This was a very engaging book, but I figured out some things before the end and was disappointed with the ending; otherwise a truly interesting and engaging listen that kept me on my toes.

Profile Avatar Thinkgreen23 Feb 2026

Great book

Profile Avatar Monique M. Feb 2026

Truly enjoyable!

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2026

I enjoyed the writing and thought the overall story was good but I think it went on too long. I also think there were a lot of things that were a little far fetched and the main character made a lot of the same silly mistakes which took away from the story.

Profile Avatar Susan R. Feb 2026

Enjoyed. I was surprised at the ending!

Profile Avatar Maya Feb 2026

Loved the book

Profile Avatar Cheryl Z. Feb 2026

I sat on the edge of my seat listening to this book! I didn’t know where it was going until towards the end. Quite a thriller!

Profile Avatar Dorothea H. Feb 2026

It started well until around 70%, I should have just stopped listening at that point. From then on, it is just far-fetched and ridiculous. The characters are unlikeable and I really couldn't care less by the end. Finally, i’d just had enough

Profile Avatar Colleen M. Feb 2026

Kept me on the hook

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2026

Loved the twists, but what I loved most was how the author uses simple, everyday things — a sound, a household object, a tiny moment — to capture huge emotions. I finished the audiobook in two days and can’t wait to listen to her next one!

Profile Avatar Oyindamola O. Feb 2026

Definitely good, thought I had it figured out, then nope! Narrator was very good.

Profile Avatar Diane D. Jan 2026

Kept me guessing the whole book! Nicely written.

Profile Avatar justapeach Jan 2026

The bones of this story are very good; however, the execution struggled to live up to its promise. The overindulgence in descriptors, repetition of phrases in awkward places, and reliance on passive tense made this a hard read for me. I felt robbed of deeper context that could have fleshed out each character more. The two storylines punctuate each other in a jilted manner and do not offer context integral to the union later. This reads like a first novel of an ambitious creative writer who hasn’t found their writing voice yet. I’d like to see more continuity and fewer literary cliches (“every bone in my body felt shattered;” “he smelled of coffee and sage and sea salt” etc.). The narrator has a monotone, sweet voice that did not match the protagonist’s storyline and Caitlin came across as whiney and apathetic as a result. The recordings were not EQ’d and the volumes would change mid-sentence. Overall, I expect more from a best seller. This felt like a debut Y/A novel rather than a psycho-thriller.

Profile Avatar Shauna L. Jan 2026

Great book, a little slow and obvious at times but still very enjoyable

Profile Avatar Axliane J. Jan 2026

Very Good!

Profile Avatar L C. Apr 2025

This book is unputdownable…Or unstop-listen-able

Profile Avatar Sharon S. Apr 2025

At first I was clueless as to why there were two stories. They seemed to have no intersection. Then it hit me. What a nicely written book with many twists and turns.

Profile Avatar Meme Angus Mar 2025

This book was fascinating, the story unfurled beautifully. It was almost ruined however by one of the narrators; one was brilliant the other was appalling. Don’t let that put you off though as it is an exciting read and you’ll want to keep listening..well into the night.

Profile Avatar TC Mar 2025

A joy to read and suspenseful. Lots of plot twists kept me guessing.

narrator did very well. brilliant narration by one person for all the characters. now the story is very well written and twists and till the end you won't see it coming what's next for you in it.

Profile Avatar Smileykat Mar 2025

What a well written, incredibly good story! It has you continuously trying to figure this out. My fiancé and I both listen to this and both of us just loved it. The narrators also did an excellent job. I actually didn’t realize there were two of them. They were perfect for this story!

Profile Avatar Froggy Momma Mar 2025

Loved it! Very convincing twist. Disappointed with the end…would’ve loved a sequel.

Profile Avatar NurseAppel Mar 2025

Overall, a good book, but was confusing on how it would tie together for the majority of it, and by the time it reached the end, there were parts that seemed unrealistic or unbelievable. But the author did a good job of tying it all together and wrapping it in a neat little bow . The narrator was good too.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2025

This book was a fun and engaging listen. It was well crafted with twists and turns so that it was not predictable.

This book was entertaining for about 2/3 but then it became tedious and just long! The conclusion was so unbelievably ridiculous. So many others loved this book but I can’t agree.

Profile Avatar Connie C. Feb 2025

So many twists and turns! I couldn't stop listening to it. Excellent book!

Profile Avatar Linda M. Feb 2025

This book was a VIP Reward title from Audiobooks (a freebee). The problem with their VIP Reward procedure is that one cannot listen to a book for any amount of time - you decide to go with it by the star rating since no other information is provided. I listened to 45 minutes of this novel and could not take it any longer. The writing is immature, bad, and predictable. How this got the high number star rating is beyond me. In addition, there are two narrators, both women, and I could not tell the difference between them. A waste of time.

Profile Avatar Whitney Feb 2025

It's was OK

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2025

Loved this bok! Very entertaining and suspenseful

Profile Avatar Kim B. Feb 2025

wow what a wonderful book. first time listen to this author

Profile Avatar Meagan B. Feb 2025

I enjoyed this book! Every time I thought I’d pieced the mystery together, I was off by a couple details until only a few chapters before the big reveal. It was an interesting story that didn’t quite go where I expected it to, and I thought the narrator did a wonderful job!

Profile Avatar Emecee Feb 2025

This was a good read. It certainly kept my interest! Although, the jaw dropping twists weren’t that jaw dropping but were predictable imo. Narrator was spot on!

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2025

Got this for my vip book and wasn’t expecting much - I was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyable, easy to listen to and great ( if slightly strange ) twisty turny plot. Good characters , well written and good narrator as well.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2025

this had so much potential but just never met it. felt like a lifetime movie I basically ended up hate listening too it. if I was physically reading it I would have stopped.

Profile Avatar Tina P. Feb 2025

Book Review: The Wrong Daughter I found The Wrong Daughter to be an okay read overall. It had some great twists and turns that kept me engaged, but at times, the story felt a bit long-winded. Some of the plotlines, particularly those hinting at incest, were uncomfortable to read and felt unnecessary. The story itself was quite far-fetched, requiring a significant suspension of disbelief. However, the narrators did a fantastic job, bringing the characters to life and making the experience more enjoyable. If you enjoy thrillers with unexpected twists and don’t mind some unsettling themes, it might be worth a read.

Profile Avatar Kelli A. Feb 2025

Unbelievable book - riveting until the very end!! So well written and I wanted to know the full story, but did not want the story to end!! You will not be disappointed!!

Profile Avatar Heidi F. Jan 2025

Great story. The first narrator spoke well. The second one for Elinor didn’t have a pleasing voice. Her S and T sounds were too sharp and irritated my ears

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2025

Couldn’t put it down! Great read.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2025

Draggy, whiny, not believable. Two stories that could have been fine as stand alone, awkwardly tied by a couple of lines toward the end. Unbearably wordy. Can't believe this even got published

Profile Avatar Melissa N. Jan 2025

a great listen with a few plot twist.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2025

Well written and narrated. When you think you have the details tied together, you don’t.

Profile Avatar Terry L. Jan 2025

I was completely hooked on the book. Listened every chance I got. Just the right amount of twists and turns for me. I'm not giving it 5 stars as I thought the ending could have been better, given the way the story played out.The narrators were very good!Something I do not like in narrators is when they exaggerate reactions and emotions to a point where it it sounds theatrical. I also do not like when the voice sounds computer corrected. This narration had neither of those flaws :-)

Profile Avatar AnnieLou R. Jan 2025

This book was soooo good. It had me all in my feelings omg

Profile Avatar Anonymous Aug 2024

Great plot twists. A little long but worth the listen.
