“It’s perfection, every word, every moment. A masterpiece . . . One of the best books I’ve ever read.” —Lisa Jewell, #1 New York Times bestselling author

New York Times bestselling author Gillian McAllister has created a thriller unlike any other in this endlessly clever, twisty story of a mother who must move backward through time to prevent tragedy from striking at the heart of her family.

Can you stop a murder after it’s already happened?

It is midnight on the morning of Halloween, and Jen anxiously waits up for her 18-year-old son, Todd, to return home. But worries about his broken curfew transform into something much more dangerous when Todd finally emerges from the darkness. As Jen watches through the window, she sees her funny, seemingly happy teenage son stab a total stranger.

She doesn’t know who the victim is, or why Todd has committed such a devastating act of violence. All she knows is that her life, and Todd’s, have been shattered.

After her son is taken into custody, Jen falls asleep in despair. But when she wakes up…it is yesterday. The murder has not happened yet—and there may be a chance to stop it. Each morning, when Jen wakes, she is further back in the past, first weeks, then years, before the murder. And Jen realizes that somewhere in the past lies the trigger for Todd’s terrible crime…and it is her mission to find it, and prevent it from taking place.

Both the story of a mother’s love and the sacrifices she will make for her child, and a thriller with a brilliant twist, Wrong Place Wrong Time is a one-of-a-kind novel that begs to be read in one sitting.

A surprisingly great read! I was worried it would be hard to follow with the story line working backwards, but it was easy to follow and kept me listening. The characters were so likeable and developed realistically as the story progressed. I loved the suspense, and it definitely kept me guessing.

Such a great storyline. Had me gasping and wide eyed. Wish the narrator had a little more difference in voices, but highly recommend!

I’m not one for paranormal or fantasy, but this plot was absolutely gripping. The narrator did an excellent job and kept good rhythm while speaking this well-told story to life. Thoroughly enjoyed.

I quite enjoyed this book. I feel like it started a bit slow, but it gained momentum and picked up speed and I was pretty hooked. The numerous and repeated descriptions of Jen’s love for her son got a bit tiring, but the story is well written and all comes together in the end. It may have been easier to follow as a paper book because of the jumping back in time, but I made it through the audiobook and the narrator I thought did an excellent job. 4 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a great story! I went in knowing absolutely nothing - I prefer it that way - and I was not disappointed. this take on a mystery/time-loop story is so intriguing.

Excellent. At first, I was a bit disappointed when I saw where the story was headed because I normally don't care for this kind of storyline. It didn't take long, though, to reel me back in. Wonderfully written and narrated. Intriguing twists right to the end. I actually want to listen to this one again, to better catch everything this time. This book should be a Netfix series.

Great story, great narration! Funny, yet riveting, on the edge of your seat kind of thing. Appealing characters all around. We do audiobooks on long drives; this is the best one we’ve enjoyed in years!

An interesting take on the idea of the movie Ground Hog’s Day and Happy Death Day To Me (and so many others). Even though the start jumps you into a story that’s all questions and chaos, it was still a little slow. I really liked the slowness as it allowed for character development. We figure out what’s going on as the protag does and it never feels like she’s too naive or simplistic in her understanding. And what’s going on is really interesting, even if more than a little implausible. The ending pays off, but one needs to really-really-really suspend their disbelief throughout. Overall, this was a terrific story told really well. Highly recommend.

This book was not what I expected. It was so much more. I expected a good read, but it turned out to be far better than just good. I appreciate the love story between Jen and her husband. When it seemed that it might not be real, I was thankful the author made it even better and stronger. The lengths a mother will go for the good of her family should never be underestimated, and this novel brings that point out very well! The idea of being able to revisit some of our previous encounters was also nice. I often listen to my books again if they are with revisiting. I think this will definitely be added to that list.

This was interesting and had some good twists. Honestly, the characters were not exactly endearing, and I wasn’t invested in the outcome. Overall, I wanted to keep listening to see what would happen next. Enjoyable!

I liked the premise, and the twists at the end, the middle was ok. I didn't listen to the narrated version, but I can't not rate the narrator, so I'll give her a neutral rating.
