Summary:

You probably think you know a lot about the human body. The reality is that most of us know very little about this miraculous, scientific, and artistic system of anatomy. When it comes to your longevity and quality of life, understanding your internal systems gives you the power, authority, and ability to live a healthier, younger, and better life.

You: The Owner's Manual challenges your preconceived notions about how the human body works and ages, then takes you on a tour through all of the highways, back roads, and landmarks inside of you. You'll learn about all of your blood-pumping, food-digesting, and keys-remembering systems and organs.

Just as important, you'll get the facts and advice you need to keep your body running long and strong. You'll find out how diseases start and how they affect your body -- as well as advice on how to prevent and beat conditions that threaten your quality of life. You: The Owner's Manual gives you an easy, comprehensive, and life-changing how-to plan for fending off the gremlins of aging.

Welcome to your body. Why don't you come on in and take a look around?

Dreadful new-age claptrap. Couldn't get more than 10 minutes into it.

I'm a registered nurse and I found this book very informative. I would recommend this one. Great simple explanations. Entertaining book as well.

  • Sandra Oliver

A good overview of the body and its systems. It breaks down the functions and gives advice in easy to understand language. It is a little hard to write down the suggested foods/vitamins, etc. while you drive.

Didn't like it very well. It went into too much detail and tended to repeat itself. Was not what I expected.

As far as the material I found it very informative. However one of the Dr's clearly has a speech impediment and sounds like Elmer Fudd thru the whole thing. Not to make fun of anyone's speech but perhaps a different reader would have made the book less comical. I had a few laughs over that. But the book is great.

I enjoyed this book very much. I'd heard about this book on Oprah when Dr. Oz talked about his 90 Days Live Longer, Look Younger plan. This book talks about things you can do to make your life better and healthier. I'm planning on trying many of the suggestions. I think if a person really wants to improve his/her life, they will find a way to incorporate many if not all of his and Dr. Roizen's suggestions. Many can be done without too much money.

There is just plain nothing new here unless you know nothing zero zip nada about health.

This audiobook was good, and full of information that was helpful and useful. The audio portion was monotone, could have used some additional intonations or effects. Overall, an enjoyable book, because of the content.
