Summary
Kristin Burns is making her way in New York City. Her photos are being considered at a major Manhattan gallery, she works by day with two wonderful children, and the man of her dreams is almost hers for keeps. But just as everything she's ever wanted is finally within reach, her life changes forever--with one murderous nightmare.

Kristin wakes up every morning from the same chilling, unforgettable dream. And suddenly, it's visiting her during the day too. As her life turns stranger by the minute, Kristin is haunted and terrified. Is it all in her head? Or is the nightmare becoming her life?

Kristin searches desperately for what's real through the lens of her camera, only knowing two things for sure: that no place is safe and the fate of everyone she loves lies in her hands.

disappointed in CA

I am a huge Patterson fan, and enjoy most all of his books. HOWEVER, this one was really predictable and almost painful to make it thru. Didn't seem like his work at all, or maybe something he threw together in an afternoon to meet some commitment. Save yourself 6 hours and skip this one.

This was one of the worst books I have ever read or listened too. This was the last chance for this author in my book. A complete waste of my time. The only good thing was that it was an abridged version.

Obviously not written by James Patterson, a tactic he uses of which I am not fond.

eh ok, week characters. Wasn't the worst book I've listened too. Maybe because there were only 5 disc. It was managable to get through.

Who wrote this book??? So disappointing. I love Patterson most of the time. I had to force myself to complete the book and when it was over, I felt completely cheated. To call this work "simple" is to defame the word "simple."

This was one of the most aggravating books! i kept thinking it would get better, but it did not. and the ending is just weird.

This book was absolute torture to get through. It is sophomoric, frustrating, idiotic at times, and reads like one long, boring sentence that you can't wait to finally end. I doubt James Patterson did any more than add his name, make a buck, and lure us into believing this was a book of his caliber. It isn't - if you felt cheated by the whole "JR" incident, you will snap these CD's in half and prevent anyone else from having to suffer through it.

You know those frustration dreams you have? You can't get there from here? Or you can't complete the task at hand? That's what this book was ... I kept waiting to wake up (which is what the book was all about). It kept me on the edge, but I was a little disappointed in the ending ... needed a little more. Not one of Patterson's best books, but it killed time on my commute.

NOT ONE OF HIS BETTER BOOKS. I, TOO, KEPT WAITING FOR IT TO GET BETTER BUT IT NEVER DID. STRANGE BOOK.

I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. Too many cliches, too many product/people references, just too unbelieveable. Don't waste your time if you have anything better to do.

Sorry - I am a HUGE fan of James Patterson but this one was just WEIRD. Couldn't wait for it to be done.

This was so shockingly NOT James Patterson material. I listened to the whole book...hoping. There are so many other great "listens" out there, don't bother with this one!

This book is very weird, but very good. Keeps you on the edge of your set. The ending is too real.

Patterson should be ashamed....this book is a waste of time. Please better spend yours doing something constructive and fun with your time.... Guess I should have taken a hint from the title.

Usually enjoy James Patterson's books, not this one. Kept going with it to see if it would get better. It was too weird.

read tons of his books, this one was the worst. disjointed, abrupt meaningless conclusion, only finished it because I paid for it. great narrator though

After reading many dreadful reviews of this book, my expectations were quite low. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the story kept my interest all the way through. However after the ending, I'm now wondering why I was interested at all. Maybe it was due to the fantastic narrator. I'd listen to her read the dictionary.

We are all human, and we all stink up the joint from time to time. Patterson does here. Narrator makes a valiant attempt to make it listenable, but even that isn't enough. AWFUL!

While the narrator made a valiant effort to dress this book up, this was not one of Patterson's best, and the plot was utterly predictable. Only semi-entertaining.

I read or listen to every James Patterson book that comes out and this was such a disappointment! It was confusing and boring with no real point until the very end. Even then, I was unsatisfied. On the plus side, the narrator did a fine job with a so-so story.
