H.A. DeRosso (1917-1960) was an American author known for his pulpy noire Western novels and short stories. He began writing short stories in high school, publishing his first in Street & Smith's Western Story Magazine in 1941. In just a few short years, he became a full-time writer until his death in 1960, penning classic Westerns such as .44 (1953) and The End of the Gun (1955).
