Ananda Braxton-Smith is a journalist and children's writer who is passionate about communicating history to young people in new and innovative ways. She was a nominee for the Aurealis Award for Best YA Novel in 2010 (Merrow) and 2011 (Secrets of Carrick: Tantony), and a finalist in 2012 (Tantony). Merrow is her first book with Candlewick Press.
