Tom McMillan serves on the board of trustees of Pittsburgh's Heinz History Center, the board of directors of the Friends of Flight 93, the marketing committee of the Gettysburg Foundation, and as a tour guide at the Civil War room at Carnegie Library in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. He is the author of Flight 93 and has spent a lifetime in communications as a newspaper sportswriter, a radio talk show host, and for the past twenty-one years, as vice president of communications for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
