Peter Henriques, who received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Virginia, is Professor of History Emeritus at George Mason University. He has written extensively on the subject of George Washington, including the biography The Death of George Washington: He Died as He Lived. Henriques is also a member of the editorial board for the George Washington Papers and the Mount Vernon committee of George Washington Scholars.
