Penhall's plays include Wild Turkey; Some Voices (winner of the John Whiting Award in 1995); Pale Horse; Love and Understanding, and The Bullet. His last play, Blue/Orange was a West End hit, winning The Evening Standard, Olivier, and Critics' Circle awards for Best New Play in 2000/2001.
