SUZANNE BROCKMANN lives west of Boston with her husband, Dell author, Ed Gaffney. She has two grown children, but in September 2007, she'll be adding two Schnauzer puppies to her family.

She is also a card-carrying member of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Human Rights Campaign, and MassEquality.
