She's a former corporate buyer, magazine writer, University of Tennessee Head Majorette, and personal trainer. McElyea has a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in Consumer Services Management. She's a proud member of the Women's Fiction Writers Association and The Ink Tank.
