Claude Halstead Van Tyne (1869-1930) was an American historian and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his book The War of Independence in 1930. He was a senior fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in 1902 and taught history at the University of Michigan from 1903 to 1930. He wrote several books on the American Revolution.
