William J. Long

William J. Long (1857-1952) was an American writer, naturalist, and minister who lived and worked in Stamford, Connecticut. He spent his summers in the wilderness of Maine and Nova Scotia, and his experiences there were the basis for his many books, which include Ways of Wood Folk, Wilderness Ways, Wood-Folk Comedies, Northern Trails, and Wood Folk at School.
