Pius Kamau, who contributed 'A Duty to Heal' to NPR's This I Believe series, is a thoracic and general surgeon in Denver. He grew up in Kenya and studied medicine in Kenya, Spain and England before immigrating to the United States. Kamau also writes a column on African issues for the Denver Post.
